Covey was elevated to the Eagles' active roster Saturday.
The 26-year-old was waived by Philadelphia on Aug. 29 before agreeing to join their practice squad one day later. Covey will add depth to the Eagles' special teams unit, as he was primarily used returning punts and kicks last year. The Utah product appeared in 16 games for the Eagles during his rookie campaign, racking up 514 total return yards.
