Covey was waived by the Eagles on Tuesday, John Clark reports.
Covey's exit comes as a bit of a surprise after appearing in 17 games with the team last season. He was in the mix for a depth receiver role as well as earning the team return duties. The Utah product should be considered a likely candidate for the practice squad and possibly still someone who could find his way to the 53-man roster.
