Two TDs in win
Published: 2024-10-06
Love completed 15 of 26 passes for 224 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's 24-19 win over the Rams. He added three rushes for 10 yards.
Love had a bumpy first half, as he set up Green Bay's first touchdown with a 53-yard completion to Jayden Reed. He then followed that up with a pick-six on an ill-advised attempt to throw the ball away from his own end zone just before halftime. Things smoothed out in the final two quarters, as he found Tucker Kraft for a pair of touchdowns that came from 66 and seven yards away. Love has made too many mistakes early in the season -- he has five interceptions in three games -- but he's also moved the offense effectively and has multiple touchdowns in all three contests.
Gets back to full practice Thursday
Published: 2024-10-03
Love (knee) was a full practice participant Thursday, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
This marks the first time Love has been unhindered at practice since spraining the MCL in his left knee Week 1 against the Eagles in Brazil. He missed just two games as a result of the injury, completing 32 of 54 passes for 389 yards, four touchdowns and three interceptions in this past Sunday's 31-29 loss to the Vikings. Now that Love seemingly is past the issue, the biggest question mark surrounding the quarterback is who will be available in the skill positions for the Packers on Sunday at the Rams. WR Christian Watson (ankle) is slated to miss time, WR Romeo Doubs was away from the team Thursday due to a personal matter, and TE Luke Musgrave (ankle) hasn't taken part in drills during Week 5 prep.
Limited Wednesday

Love (knee) was limited at Wednesday's practice, Bill Huber of SI.com reports.
Coach Matt LaFleur relayed the news to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic, while adding that Love "did a really nice job. It looks like he's just getting back in the groove." Love took some time to get going during this past Sunday's 31-29 loss to the Vikings, but he finished 32-for-54 passing for 389 yards, four touchdowns and three interceptions. He has two sessions remaining this week in which to log his first full practice since prep for the season opener in Brazil before potentially entering the weekend with a designation for a fourth week in a row.
Valiant effort in return

Love completed 32 of 54 passes for 389 yards with four touchdowns and three interceptions and added one rush for six yards in the Packers' 31-29 loss to the Vikings on Sunday. He also threw a two-point conversion pass.
Love's completion percentage in his return from a two-game absence due to a knee injury ultimately left much to be desired, but the second-half surge he led for the Packers propped up his passing yardage and touchdown numbers significantly. Down 28-7 entering the second half, Love couldn't get Green Bay moving much over the first three possessions of the third quarter, but he subsequently helmed a trio of touchdown drives that included a 96-yard march which featured 63 yards' worth of completions to Jayden Reed. Love threw his final scoring toss of the day, a 17-yarder to Dontavyion Wicks, to cap off the drive with 56 seconds remaining, but he was never able to get the ball back. Love seemed to shake off rust as the game went on and said after the game his previously injured knee felt fine, per Zachary Jacobson of 247Sports. Therefore, he could be ready to put together a much more complete performance in a Week 5 road matchup against the Rams next Sunday.
Active, starting Sunday
Published: 2024-09-29
Love (knee) is listed as active and will start Sunday against the Vikings, Mike Spofford of the Packers' official site reports.
Love is a bit more than three weeks removed from sustaining a Grade 1-to-2 MCL sprain in his left knee in the waning moments of a Week 1 loss to the Eagles in Brazil. He's slowly but surely ramped up his activity level the last two weeks, yet he didn't manage more than a limited practice in advance of Sunday's game. Still, Love has made enough progress in his recovery to take over direction of the Packers offense, while fill-in starter Malik Willis will return to a backup role. According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, Love is expected to wear a brace of the outside of the knee in question, which may impact his mobility somewhat.
Trending towards playing
Published: 2024-09-28
Love (knee) is expected to be active Sunday against the Vikings, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Love was a limited participant all week and looked good in his pre-game warmup against the Titans in Week 3, setting the stage for the franchise signal caller to make his return in Lambeau against a surprisingly fearsome Vikings defense come Sunday. The Packers haven't officially changed the injury designation of Love, but no practice-squad elevation of Sean Clifford effectively tipped the team's hand on the matter. While Love has looked comfortably mobile in the few glimpses of the quarterback during practice, it's fair to speculate if the team might be a bit reserved from a play-calling perspective with their prized quarterback in order to maintain his health for the rest of the season.
Listed as questionable
Published: 2024-09-27
Love (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Vikings, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Love was a limited participant in each practice this week and now heads into the weekend looking truly questionable ahead of a 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff. He was also listed as questionable the past two games, but for Week 2 he was downgraded to doubtful and for Week 3 there were early reports suggesting he wouldn't play. This time around it looks like closer to 50/50, with the Packers perhaps inclined to be less cautious than usual on account of the divisional matchup against an undefeated rival. QB Malik Willis will make his third straight start if Love doesn't end up playing.
Stays limited Friday
Published: 2024-09-27
Coach Matt LaFleur said Love (knee) was limited at Friday's practice, Bill Huber of SI.com reports.
LaFleur also was non-committal about Love's potential to play Sunday against the Vikings. Once the Packers post their final Week 4 injury report later Friday, Love likely will be listed as questionable, as he was last week. If Love is unable to suit up this weekend, Malik Willis again will be under center for Green Bay.
Remains limited in practice
Published: 2024-09-26
Love (knee) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. "We'll see," head coach Matt LaFleur said, when asked about Love's status for Sunday's game against the Vikings. "We'll give him up to game time."
Love continues to work his way back from the Grade 1-to-2 MCL sprain he sustained in the Sept. 6 loss to the Eagles, and he looks to have a chance at meeting the short end of his projected 3-to-6-week recovery timeline. He's now been a limited participant in six consecutive practices, and while the Packers haven't indicated that Love has experienced any setbacks with his knee, he may need to turn in a full practice Friday to avoid being viewed as anything more than a game-time call leading up to Sunday. Malik Willis has presided over the Green Bay offense for the last two games and will stay prepared for another start under center this weekend if the Packers' franchise signal-caller isn't cleared to return to the lineup.
