Parker was waived by the Panthers with a non-football, undisclosed injury in May. There was no word on the specific nature, nor severity of his injury, but his workout with New York indicates his health is back up to par. The cornerback will have his work cut out for him to earn a spot on the team's 53-man roster should he ultimately get a chance to join training camp.

The details and severity of Parker's injury are unknown, other than the fact that it did not occur on the football field. The cornerback will now be available to be claimed on waivers should any other teams show interest.

Parker was let go by the 49ers in early September after he reached an injury settlement with the team following a hamstring injury, but he now appears ready to return to action. The cornerback played in three games with the Lions last season, recording 11 tackles.
