Firkser elevated to the active roster ahead of Saturday's 27-19 win over the Texans, failing to record any offensive stats while playing eight snaps on offense. Additionally, the tight end secured a tackle on kick coverage while playing 15 snaps on special teams. Firkser will now need to be officially signed to the active roster in order to appear in another game this season.

The Chiefs elevated Firkser to their active roster Friday.
Firker's elevation ensures depth at tight end, with Jared Wiley (knee), Jody Fortson (knee) and Peyton Hendershot (calf) all sidelined for Kansas City's Week 16 matchup against the Texans on Saturday. Expect Firkser to serve as a depth piece in the Chiefs' TE corps, playing behind Travis Kelce and Noah Gray.

The tight end can still be elevated one more time before he'd have to be officially signed to the active roster.

The Chiefs elevated Firkser from their practice squad to their active roster Saturday ahead of Sunday's matchup versus Cleveland.
Firkser is receiving his second elevation over the past three weeks after getting into four contests with the Jets earlier in the campaign. The veteran tight end has played a total of 15 offensive snaps this season and doesn't yet have a target. He could continue to be called upon for duty on gamedays while Peyton Hendershot (calf) remains on injured reserve.

Firkser played 17 snaps (seven on offense, 10 on special teams) during the Chiefs' 19-17 win over the Raiders on Friday and idd not record a stat. The veteran tight end is eligible to be elevated to the active roster two more times this season.

Firkser was elevated from Kansas City's practice squad Thursday ahead of Friday's game against the Raiders.
Firkser will get his first elevation since signing to Kansas City's practice squad Nov. 2. He got into four games with the Jets earlier this season, totaling eight offensive snaps and 60 snaps on special teams without recording any other stats. Firkser's elevation this week follows the placement of fellow tight end Peyton Hendershot on IR due to a calf injury.

Firkser will now head to Kansas City and take the spot on the practice squad vacated by Peyton Hendershot, who was signed to the Chiefs' active roster Saturday following Jared Wiley's season-ending torn ACL.

The tight end was elevated from the practice squad to the active roster for Weeks 6-8 and played on seven offensive snaps and 51 special-teams snaps. Firkser also saw action in Week 1, but he has yet to record a catch this season. The seventh-year pro's last regular-season reception came in 2022 with the Falcons.

The Jets signed Firkser from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday.
Firkser began the regular season on the Jets' practice squad after failing to make the 53-man roster at the end of training camp. He's played 28 snaps (six on offense, 22 on special teams) in the two games he's been elevated for, but he'll now join the active roster and provide depth at tight end. Firkser could serve as the Jets' No. 2 tight end behind Jeremy Ruckert on Sunday against the Steelers if starter Tyler Conklin (hip) is unable to play.
