Explodes for two sacks in loss
Armstead had four tackles (two solo) including two sacks in Sunday's 31-17 loss to the Bengals.
Armstead had just 0.5 sacks heading into Week 8, but was able to get to Joe Burrow on two separate occasions Sunday. His 2.5 sacks on the year is fourth-best on the team behind Nick Bosa, Javon Hargrave and Drake Jackson, each of whom have three. Armstead has improved in the sack category from 2022 when he had zero sacks in eight games and will look to build on that total after the bye against the Jaguars in Week 10.

Silent in Week 1 win
Armstead went without a tackle in the 49ers' Week 1 win over the Steelers.
Armstead finished with zero tackles for the second straight regular season game dating back to Week 18 of the 2022 campaign. He'll look to get back on track in Week 2 versus the Rams.
Ready for playoffs
Armstead (foot/ankle) doesn't have a designation for Saturday's wild-card matchup versus the Seahawks.
Armstead has dealt with a persistent foot/ankle dating back to Week 2. While he was once again limited during the first two practices heading into Saturday, the 29-year-old will be ready to suit up for his seventh game in a row after logging a full session Thursday. Armstead should continue to serve a prominent role on the interior of San Francisco's defensive line alongside Javon Kinlaw (knee), who also does not carry a designation leading into the first round of the playoffs.
Limited again Wednesday
Armstead (ankle) logged his second straight limited practice session Wednesday ahead of San Francisco's wild-card game against the Seahawks on Saturday.
Armstead has been dealing with a foot/ankle issue for much of the campaign, though he was able to play in each of the 49ers' contests between Week 13 and 18. He has opened the practice week with back-to-back limited sessions, as he has done every week since Week 13. That suggests he'll probably be ready for Saturday's wild-card contest against Seattle, during which he'll likely handle his usual starting role along the defensive line.
Still on injury report Tuesday
Armstead (ankle) was a limited participant during the 49ers' practice Tuesday.
Armstead will once again open San Francisco's week of practice with an injury designation. The 29-year-old previously missed seven consecutive games while dealing with these foot and ankle injuries, though he suited up during each of the final six weeks of the regular season. Fellow defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw (knee) was also a limited participant Tuesday, though, barring additional setbacks, it's likely both he and Armstead will be available for Saturday's wild-card game against the Seahawks.
Will play Sunday
Armstead (foot/ankle) is active Sunday against the Cardinals, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Armstead has been dealing with the injury throughout the season, but he'll continue to play through it. His ability to take the field once again should be good news for the 49ers' defensive front.
Status up in the air Week 18
Armstead (foot/ankle) has been deemed questionable for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.
Armstead has been tending to a foot/ankle injury for almost the entire season, though he's played over 60 percent of defensive snaps in each of San Francisco's past four games. The 29-year-old opened Week 18 prep with back-to-back limited practices before sitting the entirety of Friday's sessions. With Kevin Givens (knee) remaining out and Javon Kinlaw (knee) also considered questionable to play, it's possible San Francisco could be down to just one healthy defensive tackle in T.Y. McGill if Kalia Davis (undisclosed) is not activated from the reserve/non-football list before Sunday.
