Snap count slips
Melton had one reception for eight yards and one carry for minus-1 yard in Sunday's 24-22 victory over the Texans.
Melton's snap count was boosted in both Weeks 5 and 6 with four of his fellow receivers either dealing with injuries or sitting out altogether, but he was on the field for only eight offensive snaps Sunday with Green Bay's full complement of wideouts available. His role figures to remain limited if the options surrounding him stay the same.

Melton had one reception for six yards and two carries for 27 yards in Sunday's 34-13 victory over the Cardinals.
Melton did not do much in the passing game, but he still made an impact in Sunday's contest with runs of 16 and 11 yards. Melton has not had many chances to contribute this season, but with fellow wideouts Jayden Reed (ankle) and Dontayvion Wicks (shoulder) picking up injuries in Week 7, his opportunities could increase in Green Bay's impending matchup with Houston.
Role remains limited
Melton was targeted twice and had one reception for 12 yards in Sunday's 24-19 victory over the Rams.
It was thought that Melton -- who shined late last season -- would get added opportunities with fellow wideouts Christian Watson (ankle) and Romeo Doubs (suspension) out for Week 5, but most of those went to Malik Heath, who got 45 snaps to 29 for Melton. Doubs is due back in Week 6 and Watson may not be far behind, so those who pounced on Melton may want to make another move.
Brings in long reception
Melton was targeted three times and had one reception for 28 yards in Sunday's 31-29 loss to the Vikings.
Melton finally recorded a tally in the reception department after being shut out in that category over the first three weeks of the season. He was on the field for only 11 snaps in Week 4, but he could be more involved moving forward with fellow wideout Christian Watson potentially missing time after injuring his ankle Sunday. Even in that scenario, though, Melton will be no higher than the fourth option at his position behind Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks.
Rushes twice in win
Melton had two carries for eight yards in Sunday's 16-10 victory over the Colts.
The wideout has not been targeted through two weeks, but he did record his first two touches of the season Sunday, with one carry going for 16 yards and the other resulting in an eight-yard loss. He remains the fifth option at his position on the depth chart.
Lone catch goes for TD
Melton had one reception on two targets for 18 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's preseason finale against the Ravens.
Melton cashed in one of Green Bay's two passing touchdowns in a 30-7 exhibition win. The 25-year-old had one receiving touchdown across five games played last season. Melton could find himself in a similar role as a reserve wideout this upcoming season, which is to say he shouldn't warrant much fantasy consideration in standard drafts.
Makes two receptions
Melton was targeted three times and caught two passes for 10 yards in Sunday's preseason game against the Broncos.
Melton garnered a start Sunday with the Packers holding out their top four wideouts, and he secured two of the three passes thrown his direction. Melton likely has a roster spot locked up thanks to his performance late last season, but barring an injury to a fellow pass catcher he will be no higher than the fifth option at his position.
Making case for role again
Coach Matt LaFleur recently praised Melton's speed, run-blocking, consistency and work ethic, Jason Wilde of the Wisconsin State Journal reports.
LaFleur referred to Melton's speed as an "elite trait" and said it was a "great story" to see the 2022 seventh-round pick go from Seattle's practice squad to Green Bay's practice squad to topping 100 yards in a crucial Week 17 win last season. Melton was back down to fifth on the depth chart for the playoffs with Green Bay's top four WRs all healthy, but it's telling that the team still gave him some snaps on offense (39 in two playoff games, including a 19-yard TD catch) when there was so much on the line and injuries didn't force things. His combination of 4.34 speed and toughness/discipline seems to have won LaFleur over, and Melton's popularity among Packers fans will only continue growing after his recent revelation that he can't stop eating cheese curds even though they make his stomach hurt.
Finds paydirt in finale
Melton was targeted once and caught one pass for 19 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 24-21 loss to the 49ers.
Melton did not get many opportunities in Saturday's contest, but he made a couple big plays early in the third quarter, drawing a 41-yard pass interference penalty on the play right before he found paydirt. Melton was mainly an afterthought until Week 16, but in the five games the Packers played from that point onward he racked up 17 receptions for 237 yards and two scores. It will be tough for Melton to make a major move up the depth chart in 2024 with all four wideouts ahead of him still under contract, but if Green Bay sticks with the same composition in the receiver room, he will head into training camp no worse than the fifth option at his position.
