The Dolphins signed Sanders to the practice squad Wednesday.
Sanders spent the 2022 season and all of training camp in Miami but was let go on cutdown day. He's back in a familiar spot and will see most of his work -- if any -- on special teams.

Sanders was waived by the Dolphins on Tuesday.
Sanders bounced back and forth between Miami's practice squad and active roster last season, and he caught two of three targets for 17 yards across three game-day elevations in 2022. Should he go unclaimed on waivers, the undrafted product out of Ole Miss will likely receive an offer to re-join the Dolphins' taxi squad ahead of this regular season.
Injury considered minor

Sanders suffered what head coach Mike McDaniel is calling a "lower-body" injury with no structural damage, Daniel Oyefusi of the Miami Herald reports.
Sanders' injury was reported to be knee-related Tuesday when he needed to be carted off the practice field during 11-on-11 drills. Ultimately, this is good news for Sanders, who McDaniels expects to be able to return to practice next week. The 24-year-old is likely on the outside looking in regarding the 53-man roster, although Oyefusi does believe the Ole Miss product is having a good camp.
Injured during practice

Sanders was carted off the field during practice Tuesday after suffering a knee injury, Daniel Oyefusi of the Miami Herald reports.
Sanders was running a route in 11-on-11 drills in a Falcons and Dolphins combined practice when the injury occurred. Until there are further details, it'll remain unclear how much time Sanders could miss. The 24-year-old was working to earn a roster spot with Miami after signing a reserve/future deal with the team in January.

Miami signed Sanders to a reserve/future contract Monday.
Sanders was elevated from the practice squad to the active roster for three games during the regular season and caught two of three targets for 17 yards across 32 offensive snaps. With his new contract, he'll be able to compete for a roster spot throughout the offseason.
