Uzomah (knee) was seen participating at the Eagles' organized training activities Friday, Dave Zangaro of reports.

Uzomah's 2023 campaign came to an early end after suffering a knee injury in December and subsequently being placed on the Jets' injured reserve. He was ultimately released by New York before later landing in Philadelphia. His participation at OTAs indicates his health is back up to par. The veteran is expected to compete for the Eagles' No. 2 tight end role behind Dallas Goedert.

Agrees to terms with Philadelphia

The Eagles signed Uzomah (knee) to a one-year contract Thursday, Olivia Reiner of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

After spending the first nine years of his career with the Bengals and Jets, Uzomah has found a new home in Philadelphia. The nine-year veteran appeared in the Jets' first 12 games last year before sustaining a season-ending MCL injury. In those contests, Uzomah tallied eight receptions for 58 yards and one touchdown, playing in just 32-percent of the team's offensive snaps. Once 31-year-old has recovered from his MCL issue, he's expected to compete for the Eagles' top backup tight end role behind Dallas Goedert.

Released by Jets

The Jets are releasing Uzomah (knee) to clear $5.3 million in cap space, Rich Cimini of reports.

The 31-year-old tight end caught 29 passes for 290 yards and three touchdowns in 27 games after signing a three-year, $24 million contract with the Jets in March of 2022. Uzomah finished the 2023 season on injured reserve with an MCL injury, and he'll likely have to compete for a backup job if he wants to continue his NFL career.

Likely to be released by New York

Uzomah (knee) is expected to be released by the Jets this offseason, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.

The veteran tight end finished the 2023 season on injured reserve after spraining his MCL in Week 13. His signing has proved to be a disaster for Jets GM Joe Douglas, as Uzomah has produced just 29 catches for 290 yards and three touchdowns across 27 contests with the team. Entering the final year of a three-year, $24 million deal, Uzomah is due an $8 million salary in 2024. The Jets can save $5.3 million against the cap by releasing the 31-year-old, leaving behind over $5.9 million in dead money.

Officially placed on IR

The Jets placed Uzomah (knee) on injured reserve Wednesday.

Uzomah suffered a sprained MCL in Week 13 against the Falcons. Given that he will have to spend a minimum of four games on IR, Uzomah's first chance to retake the field will come during New York's regular-season finale, Week 18 against New England. The Jets activated TE Kenny Yeboah (hamstring) to take Uzomah's roster spot in a corresponding transaction.

Expected to go on IR

Coach Robert Saleh said Monday that Uzomah (knee) will go on injured reserve.

Uzomah sprained his MCL in Sunday's loss to the Falcons. Once he's officially placed on injured reserve, Uzomah will be sidelined for a minimum of four weeks, so he won't be eligible to play before Week 18 against the Patriots. Tyler Conklin and Jeremy Ruckert had already been working ahead of Uzomah and will remain New York's top two tight ends.

Suffers MCL sprain

Uzomah suffered an MCL sprain during the Jets' 13-8 loss to the Falcons on Sunday, Rich Cimini of ESPN reports.

Uzomah is in danger of missing time after exiting Sunday's game due to an MCL injury. The 2015 fifth-round pick has caught eight of 12 targets for 58 yards and a touchdown in eight games played this season.

Downgraded to out

Uzomah (knee) is out for the rest of Sunday's game against the Falcons.

The tight end exited early in the game before recording a stat. Uzomah has eight catches for 58 yards and a touchdown in 2023.

Exits with knee issue

Uzomah (knee) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Falcons, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.

Uzomah seems to have sustained a knee injury early into the Jets' Week 13 contest, and Jeremy Ruckert will likely see increased offensive snaps for the time being.
