Davis was ruled out for the Bucs' 27-17 victory over the Bears on Sunday and was a limited participant in all three practice sessions earlier this week. Expect Christian Izien -- who had the game-sealing interception Sunday to go along with three tackles -- to step into an increased workload should Davis be ruled out for Week 3.

Davis (toe) was a limited participant at practice Thursday.
After he sat out Week 2 with a toe injury, Davis took a step in the right direction Thursday towards playing in Week 3. Further good news for him is that he still has two more opportunities to get in a full practice before Monday's game versus the Eagles.

In an unexpected turn of events, Tampa Bay will be without its top corner for Week 2. With Christian Izien still making his way back from a concussion, 2022 fifth-rounder Zyon McCollum could be in line to play some snaps at corner Sunday.

Davis (shoulder) returned to practice Thursday after missing the last two sessions, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
Davis' bruised shoulder is fully healed, which is good news for Tampa Bay's secondary. The 26-year-old should remain a starter at corner in 2023, as has been the case since his rookie season in 2018.

Davis has been sidelined for Tampa Bay's previous two practices due to a bruised shoulder, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
Coach Todd Bowles did not provide any further detail on Davis' injury. The 26-year-old is projected to start opposite Jamel Dean at cornerback this season, so expect the Bucs to continue erring on the side of caution with his status in order to ensure his health for Week 1. He is coming off a 2022 campaign that saw him record 57 tackles (46 solo), 12 passes defended and one interception across 13 games.

Davis missed the final two weeks of the regular season while tending to a shoulder injury. However, he was a full participant throughout the week of practice heading into Monday's playoff game, so should continue to play every defensive snap while likely drawing the assignment against top Cowboys wideout CeeDee Lamb.
