The Cowboys exercised the fifth-year option on Lamb's rookie contract Thursday, Clarence E. Hill Jr. of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Teams have a deadline of May 1 to make such decisions with first-round picks from the 2020 Draft, and the 17th overall selection that year now is locked in in Dallas through the 2024 season. Lamb is coming off a second consecutive 1,000-yard campaign, having put together a 107-1,359-9 line on 156 targets in 17 games last season. He's also been plenty durable during his three-year career, missing just one of a possible 50 regular-season contests to date. After the Cowboys added Brandin Cooks to their receiving corps this offseason, Lamb may have even more room to operate in a Dak Prescott-led offense.

Lamb corralled 10 of 13 targets for 117 yards and rushed twice for six yards in Sunday's 19-12 divisional-round loss to the 49ers.
Lamb took advantage of the 49ers' Achilles heel -- its cornerbacks -- and produced the first 100-yard receiving game of his young postseason career. The rest of Dallas' offense sputtered in the loss, bringing the star wideout's 2022 season to a close. Lamb finished with career highs across the board during the regular season, finishing with 107 receptions for 1,359 yards and nine touchdowns across 17 games. The 23-year-old will enter the fourth year of his rookie contract in 2023, and he will likely command a huge contract extension if he continues to make strides as the Cowboys' top wideout.

Lamb brought in four of six targets for 68 yards and a touchdown in the Cowboys' 31-14 wild-card win over the Buccaneers on Monday night.
Lamb was having a fairly underwhelming night until he rounded it out nicely with an 18-yard scoring grab early in the fourth quarter. The third-year wideout ultimately finished second on Dallas in receiving yards and tied for second in targets on a night in which Dak Prescott shined with a 300-yard, four-touchdown performance. Lamb figures to play an integral role once again in Sunday's divisional-round road clash against a talented but occasionally vulnerable 49ers secondary.

The third-year wideout was the lone bright spot for the Dallas offense as it put together maybe its worst performance of the year. Lamb wraps up the regular season with career highs in catches (107), targets (156), receiving yards (1,359) and TDs (nine), and he'll likely need to come up big on the road in the wild-card round if the Cowboys are going to advance past the Buccaneers.

Lamb secured 11 of 14 targets for 100 yards in the Cowboys' 27-13 win over the Titans on Thursday night.
Lamb comfortably led the Cowboys in receptions, receiving yards and targets on the night, repeatedly capitalizing on a very short-handed Titans defense. The third-year wideout's performance included his fifth 100-yard tally of 2022 and tied his season high in receptions, and it also put him over the 100-catch mark for the campaign. Lamb's final opportunity to tune up for the postseason comes in a Week 18 road matchup versus the Commanders a week from Sunday.
