Allen (undisclosed) reverted to the Bears' injured reserve Sunday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Allen was waived by Chicago with an injury designation Saturday, and he'll be forced to miss the entire 2023 campaign unless he reaches an injury settlement with the team. It's unclear what injury he's dealing with, but Saturday's move allowed the Bears to sign Marcedes Lewis.
Allen (undisclosed) was waived by the Bears with an injury designation Saturday, Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic reports.
Allen will revert to IR, assuming he can clear waivers. The 24-year-old played in one game for Chicago last season, seeing just two snaps on offense, while the rest of his season was spent on the practice squad. In a corresponding move the team signed veteran, Marcedes Lewis.
The Bears signed Allen to a reserve/future contract Monday, Larry Mayer of the team's official site reports.
Allen joined the Bears as an undrafted free agent back in May of 2022, where he eventually spent all but one game of this past campaign on the team's practice squad. The 25-year-old is now slated to remain with Chicago throughout the offseason and compete for a spot on the Bears' active roster next year.
