Davis (knee) will start the season on the Patriots' reserve/physically-unable to perform list.
Davis is still looking to fully recover from season-ending knee surgery in October of last season. The 33-year-old is considered a special teams asset, so the Patriots will be patient for him going forward. The soonest he could return now is in Week 5.

Davis (knee) has been placed on New England's active/PUP list to start training camp, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
Davis underwent season-ending knee surgery in October of the 2022 season. The 33-year-old has played just 19 defensive snaps during his tenure with the team, but is considered a special teams star. He will be eligible to practice and play in the preseason at any point once his health allows it.
The Patriots re-signed Davis (knee) on Saturday.
Davis, who is coming off of season ending knee surgery, has spent the past three seasons in New England and will now return for the 2023 campaign. A special teams star, the 33-year-old has played just 19 defensive snaps during his time with the Patriots. Though he may not see the field on defense, Davis will look to once again bring solid value to special teams for next season.
