Heads to IR
The Giants placed Beasley (leg) on their practice squad injured reserve list Monday, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
Beasley will now be forced to miss at least the first four games of the 2023 season. As long as Parris Campbell is available for the Giants, it's unlikely Beasley is elevated even once he becomes eligible again.

Lands with practice squad
Beasley (leg) is signing with the Giants' practice squad Wednesday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Beasley was released by the Giants on Tuesday but will remain with the team on the practice squad, as expected. He continues to work through a leg injury but will be a candidate to provide additional receiving depth for the Giants at some point once he's healthy.
Misses cut
Beasley was released by the Giants on Tuesday after failing to make their 53-man roster, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Beasley is nursing a leg injury that should not keep him sidelined for too long. However, the veteran pass catcher is expected to stick around and land on the team's practice squad. Once he is back to health, he will be a prime candidate to jump on to the 53-man roster once an injury occurs on the receiving depth chart.
Nearing full recovery
Beasley (leg) is close to 100 percent, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
Beasley has been out of action for almost two weeks due to the injury, which might hamper his likeliness to make the team's final 53-man roster. The veteran receiver who has ties to head coach Brian Daboll, from time together in Buffalo, is likely on the bubble with cut-down day coming soon.
Not in uniform
Beasley (leg) is not in uniform for Friday's exhibition game against the Panthers, Charlotte Carroll of The Athletic reports.
Beasley has been sidelined since Tuesdaywith a leg injury. Considering the veteran pass catcher is on the bubble regarding making the final 53-man roster, his absence indicates the leg injury is not minor. Still, there is another preseason game remaining, so he will have more opportunities to make an impression throughout camp.
Remains sidelined
Beasley (leg) will not practice Wednesday, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.
Beasley was also unable to practice Tuesday due to the injury, and It's unclear how much longer the veteran wideout may need to recover before he takes the field again. Considering he is likely on the bubble regarding making the team's final 53-man roster, it'll be important for Beasley to return as soon as possible.
Leads NY in catches Friday
Beasley caught all four of his targets for 33 yards in Friday's exhibition loss to the Lions.
The Giants rested most of their starters for the preseason opener, so Beasley's presence may have been an indication that he still needs to earn a roster spot. On the other hand, the veteran wideout made the most of his time on the field, leading the team with four catches on his 10 snaps. His longest reception was an 18-yard gain on a pass from Tommy DeVito on the final drive of the first quarter. Beasley excelled under head coach Brian Daboll when both were in Buffalo, and he could be more than just an afterthought if he makes New York's 53-man roster given the unsettled pecking order in the team's receiver room.
Could be ascending up depth chart
Beasley worked as the Giants' No. 1 slot receiver during Thursday's practice, Ryan Novozinksy of NJ Advance Media reports.
Beasley's role Thursday must be taken with context, as Parris Campbell -- who has been occupying the No. 1 slot position during training camp -- was sidelined due a knee issue and Sterling Shepard and Wan'Dale Robinson are both working back from ACL tears. Still, it can only help Beasley in his quest to make the team and play a meaningful role this season that he had such a prominent opportunity to show that he still has gas left in the tank, especially since he reportedly has looked good in camp so far. The Giants have a crowded receiver room, especially in the slot, and it's too early to make any assumptions about how things will shake out, but Beasley appears to have at least a decent chance to secure a depth spot with New York in his age-34 campaign.
Returning for 12th NFL season
Beasley agreed to a one-year deal with the Giants on Friday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Beasley started the 2022 campaign with Tampa Bay but opted to retire in October. However, his retirement was brief, as he signed a practice-squad deal with Buffalo in mid-December and went on to appear in four games for the Bills, including two postseason appearances. During the playoffs, Beasley caught five of nine targets for 68 yards and one score across 60 offensive snaps. He'll compete for a depth spot in the Giants' wideout room, which currently features Isaiah Hodgins, Darius Slayton, Parris Campbell, Jalin Hyatt and Jamison Crowder. Wan'Dale Robinson and Sterling Shepard figure to have roles as well when they're officially cleared to suit up following ACL surgeries last year.
