Quiet in playoff loss

RotoWire Logo Published: 2024-01-14

Kupp caught five of nine targets for 27 yards in Sunday's 24-23 wild-card round loss to the Lions.

Kupp made a key six-yard catch to convert a fourth-and-5 in the second quarter, which was immediately followed by a 38-yard Tutu Atwell touchdown catch on the next play. Outside of that contribution, Kupp was surprisingly quiet in the playoff exit while Puka Nacua racked up 181 yards and a touchdown. Kupp will be 31 years old next season and looks like he's ready to cede the No. 1 receiver role to Nacua in 2024, but the NFL's leading receiver in 2021 should still have plenty of fantasy utility considering Kupp posted four 100-yard performances in 12 regular-season games en route to 59 catches for 737 yards and five touchdowns.

Officially inactive for Week 18

RotoWire Logo Published: 2024-01-07

Kupp (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the 49ers, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.

Head coach Sean McVay had already revealed at the beginning of Week 18 prep that Kupp would be held out for rest purposes in the regular-season finale, but the Rams still opted to list the receiver as doubtful on their final injury report. As anticipated, Kupp is inactive for the contest, leaving Puka Nacua, Demarcus Robinson, Tutu Atwell, Ben Skowronek, Tyler Johnson and Austin Trammell as the team's available receivers for Sunday's game. Kupp will return to action in the wild-card round, when the Rams play a road game against a yet-to-be-determined opponent.

Not playing in Week 18

RotoWire Logo Published: 2024-01-03

Coach Sean McVay said Kupp won't play Sunday at San Francisco, Greg Beacham of the Associated Press reports.

Along with Kupp, quarterback Matthew Stafford and running back Kyren Williams are among the healthy skill-position players for the Rams that won't see action Week 18. Kupp thus will finish his seventh season as a pro with 59 catches (on 95 targets) for 737 yards and five touchdowns in 12 contests. His next game action will occur in the wild-card round of the playoffs.

Scores TD on otherwise quiet day

RotoWire Logo Published: 2023-12-31

Kupp caught four of six targets for 27 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 26-25 win over the Giants.

Kupp's five-yard touchdown catch with 1:44 remaining in the first half gave the Rams a 14-7 lead, and Los Angeles stayed ahead the rest of the way while turning away a two-point conversion attempt and field-goal attempt in the final 3:27. His fifth touchdown of the season helped salvage an otherwise quiet game from Kupp, who was held to fewer than 30 yards for the fifth time in 2023 while Puka Nacua racked up a team-high 118 receiving yards. Nacua's emergence has lowered Kupp's floor, but both wideouts have generally remained productive heading into a Week 18 matchup with the 49ers. San Francisco has already clinched the No. 1 seed in the NFC, while LA could clinch a playoff berth if things break right during the rest of Week 17.

Inefficient with 12 targets

RotoWire Logo Published: 2023-12-21

Kupp brought in six of 12 targets for 52 yards and rushed once for minus-3 yards in the Rams' 30-22 win over the Saints on Thursday night.

Kupp led the Rams in targets and tied for second in receptions on a night when Matthew Stafford connected with only four targets overall. The veteran was more inefficient than usual with his opportunities, and his night was particularly a disappointment in light of the fact Kupp was coming off back-to-back 100-yard performances. Nevertheless, the 2017 third-round pick now has at least six grabs in four straight games going into a Week 17 road matchup against the Giants on New Year's Eve.

Another 100-yard performance

RotoWire Logo Published: 2023-12-17

Kupp recorded eight receptions on eight targets for 111 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 28-20 win over the Commanders.

Kupp was limited to short gains for much of the first half, as he entered the locker room with only 38 yards. He quickly changed that, however, as he went completely uncovered on the second play of the second half and recorded a 62-yard touchdown. That propelled Kupp to his second consecutive 100-yard performance. Despite splitting targets fairly evenly with Puka Nacua, Kupp looks poised to end the season in strong form.

Tallies 115 yards

RotoWire Logo Published: 2023-12-10

Kupp recorded eight receptions on 10 targets for 115 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 37-31 loss to the Ravens.

Kupp recorded his first 100-yard game since Week 6 and also reached double-digit targets for the first time since Week 8. He managed three receptions of at least 20 yards, the longest of which went for a 34-yard gain. Kupp also scored a six-yard touchdown early in the second quarter, his third trip to the end zone on the campaign. While both Kupp and the Rams' offense have been inconsistent this season, he should be in a good spot to continue his production in a Week 15 matchup against the subpar Commanders' defense.

Grabs TD against Cleveland

RotoWire Logo Published: 2023-12-03

Kupp caught six of eight targets for 39 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 36-19 win over the Browns.

The veteran wideout salvaged his day with a three-yard TD strike from Matthew Stafford late in the fourth quarter, as the Rams broke open what had been a close game to that point. Kupp hasn't reached 50 receiving yards in a game since Week 6, which was also the last time he'd gotten into the end zone, and the injuries the 30-year-old has battled the last couple years seem to have taken their toll. He'll have a hard time breaking out in Week 14 against the Ravens.

Subdued day in Week 12 win

RotoWire Logo Published: 2023-11-26

Kupp brought in three of five targets for 18 yards in the Rams' 37-14 win over the Cardinals on Sunday.

Kupp was able to come into the day free of an injury designation after overcoming his Week 11 ankle sprain, and although he appeared to be dinged up briefly early in Sunday's contest, he returned and handled a normal workload. However, the majority of the production through the air came via the unlikely duo of Kyren Williams and Tyler Higbee, who accounted for all four of Matthew Stafford's touchdown tosses. Kupp's numbers thus far have been underwhelming, but he'll draw an intriguing home matchup in Week 13 against a Browns defense that's been much more generous against the pass on the road.
