Does little on six catches
Goedert brought in six of seven targets for 22 yards in the Eagles' 34-28 win over the Vikings on Thursday night.
On the bright side, Goedert recorded his first six grabs of the season, a tally that also served as a team-high figure. The talented tight end did all his work close to the line of scrimmage, however, and nine of his yards came on one reception. Goedert's meager production thus far appears to largely be circumstantial, as Jalen Hurts has thrown for under 200 yards in each of the first two game. The sixth-year pro will look to make more of an impact in a Week 3 Monday night road matchup against the Buccaneers on Sept. 25.

Disappears in Week 1 win
Goedert failed to record a reception on one target in Sunday's 25-20 win over the Patriots.
Weather limited the Eagles' offensive gameplan to a relatively conservative approach, and that left Goedert lacking targets. While it was certainly a disappointing start to the new season, Josh Tolentino of The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that coach Nick Sirianni specifically addressed Goedert's lack of involvement after the game, saying, "We can't go a game without getting Goedert the football." Both A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith will dominate targets in the passing attack, but Goedert should see more of a role in Week 2 against the Vikings.
Not suiting up Saturday
Goedert isn't expected to play in Saturday's preseason contest in Baltimore, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Along with quarterback Jalen Hurts and the rest of the starting offense, Goedert won't be out there for the Eagles' exhibition opener. Instead, some combination of Dan Arnold, Jack Stoll, Grant Calcaterra and Tyree Jackson will man tight end. Goedert's next opportunity for game action is this coming Thursday versus the Browns.
Focused on improving routes
Goedert has been spending more time with the Eagles wide receivers this spring to work on his routes and releases, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports reports.
The tight end said he started spending more time with the WRs last season and has continued with it during/after spring workouts. Goedert caught 79.7 percent of his targets last year and had career highs for catches and yards per game -- 4.6 for 58.5 -- but he missed five straight weeks with a shoulder injury and finished at 55/702/3, down from 56/830/4 in 15 games the year before. He could have a career year in 2023 without a significant increase in target share if the Philadelphia offense remains elite and Goedert simply has better luck with TDs and/or injuries. He remains the third option in the passing game, behind WRs A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith and potentially facing a bit more competition for short passes following the trade for RB D'Andre Swift.
Six catches in Super Bowl defeat
Goedert recorded six receptions on seven targets for 60 yards in Sunday's 38-35 Super Bowl loss to the Chiefs.
Goedert concluded his postseason in strong fashion, and he tallied at least five receptions in all three games. His Super Bowl performance was highlighted by a pair of 17-yard receptions on a drive midway through the third quarter to help set up a field goal. In five seasons with the Eagles, Goedert has topped 50 receptions on three occasions and likely will return to the team in 2023, as he's still under a four-year contract.
Team-high five grabs Sunday
Goedert caught five of six targets for 23 yards in Sunday's 31-7 win over the 49ers in the NFC Championship Game.
It wasn't a big performance by any means, but the tight end's five receptions actually led the Eagles in a game where they didn't need to throw the ball much after the loss of Brock Purdy (elbow) derailed the Niners offense. Goedert has a 10-81-1 line on 11 targets through two playoff games this season, and he figures to have a solid floor with some upside potential in two weeks during the Super Bowl.
Productive in divisional-round win
Goedert secured all five targets for 58 yards and a touchdown in the Eagles' 38-7 divisional-round win over the Giants on Saturday night.
Goedert checked in second in receptions and receiving yards to DeVonta Smith for the Eagles, and he was on the receiving end of a 16-yard touchdown toss from Jalen Hurts that opened the scoring on the night. The fifth-year tight end just missed out on a second score two possessions later when he was brought down on the three-yard line, but Goedert will head into an NFC Championship Game battle versus either the Cowboys or 49ers a week from Sunday with plenty of momentum.
Six catches against Giants
Goedert caught six of seven targets for 46 yards in Sunday's 22-16 win over the Giants.
In Jalen Hurts' first game back from a shoulder strain, Goedert had his most catches in three games since returning from his own shoulder injury. The tight end wraps up the regular season with 55 catches on 69 targets for 702 yards and three touchdowns over 12 contests, and Goedert and Hurts will both get an extra week to rest and heal with the Eagles having secured a first-round bye and the top seed in the NFC.
Quiet against Saints
Goedert recorded three receptions on six targets for 45 yards in Sunday's 20-10 loss to the Saints.
A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith combined to account for 22 targets on Gardner Minshew's 32 pass attempts, leaving little for other Philadelphia pass catchers. Goedert still managed to turn in a respectable performance, highlighted by receptions of 18 and 15 yards in the second half as the Eagles tried to get back into the game. In two games since returning from a shoulder injury, Goedert has combined to record six receptions for 112 yards.
