Out against Raiders
Kazee (ankle) is out for Sunday's game against the Raiders, Pittsburgh's official site reports.
Kazee will miss his first matchup of the season after hurting his ankle during pregame warmups last week against Dallas. The 5-foot-11 safety has eight tackles (seven solo) and one interception on the season, with the bulk of his field time being spent on special teams.

Unlikely to play at Raiders
Coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday that Kazee (ankle) is doubtful to play in Week 6 at Las Vegas, Missi Matthews of the Steelers' official site reports.
Kazee suffered an ankle injury during pregame warmups before Sunday's tilt versus Dallas, Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. It looks like he might have to sit out for at least one game as he deals with it. In his absence, Terrell Edmunds may see increased snaps.
Suspension lifted
The Steelers activated Kazee from the reserve-suspended list Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Kazee was suspended for three games after an illegal hit to the head of Michael Pittman in Week 15 against the Colts. Because the Steelers qualified for the postseason, Kazee will be able to suit up for the team's playoff game against the Bills on Sunday. The 2017 fifth-round pick accumulated 61 tackles (46 solo), three passes defended, two interceptions and two fumble recoveries over 14 games in the regular season.
Suspension upheld
Kazee had his suspension upheld by the league Wednesday, sidelining him for the remainder of the 2023 regular season, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.
Kazee will miss the Steelers' three remaining contests in 2023, but he is eligible to return for the postseason if the team makes it. In the meantime, Miles Killebrew will likely handle the primary duties at starting strong safety for Pittsburgh.
Suspension could end season
Kazee was suspended for the remainder of the season Monday for repeated violations of rules intended to protect player safety, Alan Saunders of SteelersNow.com reports.
Kazee made a hard hit on a diving Michael Pittman during Saturday's game at Indianapolis, which presumably prompted the league's action. He will have a chance to appeal the suspension, but at this point it looks like his year is over.
Picks off pass in win
Kazee recorded five tackles (four solo) while intercepting a pass and deflecting another in Sunday's 23-19 win against Green Bay.
Kazee was able to seal the game in the fourth quarter, picking off the Packers' quarterback Jordan Love as time expired. The safety has been filling in for Minkah Fitzpatrick (hamstring) the last three games, compiling 14 tackles, two interceptions and two pass deflections during that stretch.
Practices in full Tuesday
Kazee (hand) was a full participant in Tuesday's practice.
Kazee was an estimated limited participant for Monday's practice after sustaining a hand injury in Sunday's 20-10 loss to the Jaguars. By practicing in full Tuesday, he should be good to for Thursday's game against the Titans and is expected to slot in as the starting strong safety with Minkah Fitzpatrick (hamstring) ruled out for the contest.
Snags first INT, hurts hand in loss
Kazee (hand) had five solo tackles and an interception in Sunday's 20-10 loss to the Jaguars. He was estimated as a limited participant for Monday's practice, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports.
Kazee picked off Trevor Lawrence on a pass intended for Calvin Ridley that stopped the Jaguars' drive deep in Steelers territory. It's unclear when he sustained the hand injury in Sunday's game, but he was estimated as a limited participant in Monday's practice. With Minkah Fitzpatrick (hamstring) already ruled out for Thursday's game against the Titans, Kazee is likely to slot in as the starting strong safety -- as long as he's healthy -- next to Keanu Neal at free safety.
Returns to practice
Kazee (ankle) practiced in full Sunday, Chris Adamski of TribLive.com reports.
Kazee was sporting a walking boot at the end of July after suffering a sprained ankle in practice. Now fully recovered, the team's starter at strong safety should be able to turn his focus to being ready for the season opener against the 49ers.
