Will miss next two games

Lloyd has surgery on his thumb Wednesday and will not accompany the team for its two-game stretch in London, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports.
Llyod suffered the injury in the team's Week 2 loss to Kansas City and was unable to play Week 3 against Houston. With the Jaguars playing their next two games in London, Lloyd will stay back in the States and focus on his recovery to return in Week 6 against the Colts. While Lloyd is out, Chad Muma will likely continue seeing extra opportunities.

Lloyd is having testing done on his right thumb Monday to find out the severity of his injury, according to head coach Doug Pederson, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports.
Lloyd suffered the injury during Sunday's loss to the Texans, and it's not yet clear what the potential range of outcomes is for the second-year pro. An update on his status or the team's practice reports in the days ahead will likely shed a better light on his potential availability for Week 4 against the Falcons.

Lloyd recorded 11 tackles (five solo) and two pass deflections in Sunday's 17-9 loss to the Chiefs.
Lloyd led the team in takedowns in the loss, compiling his highest total since Week 5 of the 2022 campaign. The linebacker recorded 115 tackles last year and he appears likely to remain heavily involved on Jacksonville's defense in his second NFL season.

Lloyd had 115 tackles (59 solo), eight passes defensed, three interceptions and two fumble recoveries in 17 games during the 2022 regular season.
The rookie first-round pick played an every-down role at times for Jacksonville this season, and he finished third on the team in tackles. Lloyd should take on a more consistent gig during his sophomore campaign in 2023, though his IPD potential likely will remain more limited while playing alongside Foye Oluokun, who has two straight 180-plus tackle seasons.
