The Buccaneers waived Gardner (hamstring) with an injury settlement Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
He's now set to become a free agent unless he's claimed by a different team during the current waiver period. Gardner only played 14 snaps in the 2022 regular season, all on special teams.

Gardner suffered the injury during a preseason contest against the Broncos. He'll stay sidelined for the 2023 campaign now unless he reaches an injury settlement with Tampa Bay.

Assuming the cornerback clears waivers, he will revert to injured reserve Wednesday. At that point, he can reach an injury settlement with the team. Gardner spent 2022 on Tampa Bay's practice squad.

The Buccaneers waived Gardner (hamstring) on Sunday with an injury settlement, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports.
Gardner has sat out since sustaining a hamstring injury in the Bucs' 18-17 preseason win over the Broncos on Aug. 11. Auman notes that Gardner could return to Tampa Bay's practice squad, which is where he spent the 2022 season.

Gardner was ruled out for the game shortly before its conclusion, but not before recording one solo tackle. If he's healthy, his next chance for potential game action is Saturday, Aug. 19 at the Jets.
