Back to full practice Thursday

RotoWire Logo Published: 2023-09-14

Cole (hamstring) was a full participant at practice Thursday ahead of Sunday's game at Tampa Bay.

After being limited at practice by a hamstring issue Wednesday, Cole is now apparently back to full strength. It will be interesting to see what share of the snaps he earns at linebacker in Week 2 after 23-year-old starter Jack Sanborn struggled a bit to find his footing in Week 1.

Returns to Chicago

Cole signed with the Bears on Monday.

Cole was cut by the team Saturday, and was questionable for Sunday's game against the Packers due to a hamstring injury. Presumably healthy now, the Missouri State product has been re-signed and will work to earn the opportunity to suit up Sunday against the Buccaneers.

Cut by Bears

Cole (hamstring) was released by the Bears on Saturday, Chris Emma of 670TheScore.com reports.

Cole has been hampered by a hamstring issue since early in training camp. The 29-year-old will now focus on his recovery before finding a new landing spot.

Stuck with questionable designation

Cole (hamstring) is listed as questionable Friday for Sunday's game versus Green Bay, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports.

The good news for Chicago is that Cole was the only Bears player with an injury designation Friday. If he can't go in Week 1, it will open up more opportunities for fifth-round rookie Noah Sewell.

Finds new home

Cole signed with the Bears on Thursday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Cole will join his third NFL team for the 2023 season after previously playing for Houston and Tennessee. The 28-year-old appeared in 15 games last year for the Titans, making eight starts and recording a career-high 64 tackles (42 solo), a sack and a pass defended. Looking ahead, he'll likely chip in on special teams while contributing as a rotational player in the Bears' linebacker corps.

Will return against Jags

Cole (ankle) is active for Saturday's game against the Jaguars.

Cole has been sidelined with an ankle injury since Week 15, but he will return for a pivotal Week 18 matchup against the Jaguars. Prior to going down, Cole served a key role among Tennessee's linebacker corps and had tallied 62 total tackles and a sack across 14 games.

Chance to play Week 18

Cole (ankle) is listed as questionable for Saturday's game against Jacksonville.

Cole has been sidelined since Week 15 while dealing with an ankle injury. However, he did return to practice with three limited sessions during Week 18 prep, leaving him with a chance to return for Saturday's pivotal regular-season finale. Cole played at least 78 percent of defensive snaps from Weeks 12 to 14, so his availability could provide some stability for Tennessee's injury-riddled linebacker corps Week 18.

Still limited by ankle

Cole (ankle) was a limited participant during Wednesday's practice, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.

Cole has missed back-to-back games due to an ankle injury, but he's trending in the right direction after logging back-to-back limited sessions to start Week 18 prep. He'll have one more chance to submit a full practice before the Titans need to make a decision on his status for Saturday's matchup against Jacksonville.
