Fernea (undisclosed) was waived from injured reserve by the Colts with an injury settlement, Aaron Wilson reports.
Fernea saw action in one game with the Colts last season and then re-signed with the team in January on a reserve/future deal. He was placed on injured reserve Saturday, which would have put him out for the season had he not reached an injury settlement. Now he'll be able to find an opportunity with a new team once he can prove himself healthy.

The Colts have placed Fernea on injured reserve due to an undisclosed injury.
It is unclear what injury Fernea is dealing with. He is now in a position where he could spend the rest of the season on the sidelines unless both he and the Colts come to terms on an injury settlement once his health is back up to par.

The Colts signed Fernea to a reserve/future contract Friday.
Fernea will return to the Colts in 2023 after he spent the 2022 campaign as a member of the team's practice squad. The wide receiver appeared in one game this past season, logging 10 total snaps, only one which was on offense. Fernea will look to carve out a larger role for himself heading into next year.
