Moreau (ankle) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game in Green Bay, Wes Hodkiewicz of the Packers' official site reports.

Moreau practiced in a limited capacity Thursday after missing Wednesday's practice. If Moreau sits out Sunday's game as expected, Jimmy Graham could see extended action behind Juwan Johnson, with more snaps at tight end possibly going to the versatile Taysom Hill as well.

Upgraded to limited Thursday

Moreau (ankle) was upgraded to a limited practice Thursday, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.

Moreau was listed as DNP on Wednesday's practice report, so this is a step in the right direction for him ahead of Week 3 versus Green Bay. On 48 percent of the offensive snaps, Moreau has two catches for 20 scoreless yards on two targets.

Misses practice with ankle injury

Moreau (ankle) didn't practice Wednesday, Luke Johnson of the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.

Moreau's nursing an ankle injury two days after Monday's 20-17 win over the Panthers, in which the tight end had two catches for 20 yards. He'll have two more opportunities to resume practicing before Sunday's game in Green Bay.

Grabs two catches Monday night

Moreau reeled in both two targets for 20 yards during Monday's 20-17 win against the Panthers.

Moreau tied with running back Tony Jones and super-utility player Taysom Hill for the Saints' fifth-most targets against the Panthers. The 26-year-old logged more receiving yards than starting tight end Juwan Johnson (13), though he still finished far behind starting wideouts Chris Olave (86), Rashid Shaheed (63) and Michael Thomas (55). Moreau also played significantly fewer offensive snaps (36) than Johnson (62), as the latter still appears firmly entrenched as New Orleans' TE1. Moreau should continue to serve a relatively negligible receiving role when the Saints travel to Green Bay on Sunday.

Lacks involvement in loss

Moreau had zero targets during Sunday's 16-15 victory against Tennessee.

Moreau's debut with the Saints was rather forgettable, as he never logged a target while playing 32 offensive snaps behind starting tight end Juwan Johnson (49), the latter of whom recorded three catches of five targets. The Saints' third tight end Jimmy Graham ultimately played just nine offensive snaps during his return from a year-long hiatus yesterday. Moreau totaled career-highs in receptions (33), targets (54) and receiving yards (420) while playing in Las Vegas with Derek Carr for much of last season. While his Week 1 stat line was far from stellar, the 26-year-old's familiarity with the Saints' new starting quarterback provides optimism for his usage moving forward.

Deemed to be in remission

Moreau announced on Twitter Monday that he's in full remission from Hodgkin's lymphoma.

It's tremendous news after the Saints discovered Moreau's cancer in a free agency visit physical back in March. Moreau eventually signed a three-year deal with New Orleans and was even fully participating in OTAs and minicamp this spring. He's expected to complement Juwan Johnson atop the Saints' tight end depth chart this season.

Doing everything at OTAs

Moreau (illness) participated in Tuesday's practice, Ross Jackson of Saints News Network reports.

The veteran tight end was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma earlier in the offseason but is already a full participant at practice, per Jackson, running routes and catching passes at Tuesday's session. Moreau should be a fixture in New Orleans' offense after inking a three-year, $12.234 million deal to compete with Juwan Johnson for No. 1 tight end duties. Moreau already has familiarity with new Saints QB Derek Carr from their time together with the Raiders.

Moreau (illness) agreed to terms Wednesday with the Saints on a three-year, $12 million contract, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Moreau was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma after he took a physical with New Orleans during the early portion of free agency, and he now ultimately signs with the same team, reuniting with quarterback Derek Carr in the process. Per Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com, Moreau's recovery is progressing positively, and the 26-year-old plans to play in 2023. Moreau could play a significant role in a tight-end corps headlined by Juwan Johnson and hybrid player Taysom Hill. During the 2022 season, Moreau caught 33 passes (on 54 targets) for 420 yards and two touchdowns in 15 games with the Raiders.

Diagnosed with cancer

Moreau announced Wednesday via his personal Twitter account that he's "stepping away from football at this time" following a recent cancer diagnosis.

Moreau noted that when he recently underwent a routine physical with the Saints, the team discovered that the free agent tight end has Hodgkin's Lymphoma. He'll now focus on treatment of the disease, with no timetable for when he may be healthy enough to play again, if at all.
