Leaves with injury
Phillips is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Broncos with an oblique injury.
The linebacker missed Miami's Week 2 win over the Patriots with a back ailment. Phillips made 11 tackles in the team's Week 1 victory over the Chargers. Emmanuel Ogbah is in line to replace him on the Miami depth chart.
Set to play Sunday
Phillips (back) is active for Sunday's bout against the Broncos, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Phillips received the green light for Sunday's contest after logging a full practice session Friday. He sat out against the Patriots in Week 2 after posting 11 tackles (six solo) and half a sack in the season opener against the Chargers.
Listed as questionable
Phillips (back) has been given a questionable designation ahead of Sunday's contest against the Broncos.
Phillips was a full participant at Friday's practice after logging limited sessions to start the week. As a result, he looks to be trending in the right direction, but final status is not likely to be confirmed until closer to kickoff. Emmanuel Ogbah would presumably fill in at weakside linebacker if Phillips cannot go.
Limited Wednesday
Phillips (back) was limited in Wednesday's practice, Travis Wingfield of the Dolphins' official site reports.
Phillips was injured in Friday's practice last week and missed Week 2 versus New England after playing 90 percent of the defensive snaps in Week 1's electric win over the Chargers. Phillips recorded six tackles and a half-sack in the season opener. His limited session Wednesday puts Phillips on track to play in Week 3.
No go for Week 2
Phillips (back) has been ruled out for the Dolphins' contest with the Patriots on Sunday NIght Football.
Phillips suffered a back injury at practice Friday and he will now be forced to miss Miami's second game of the year. Emmanuel Ogbah could step into a starting role at weakside linebacker in his absence.
Questionable after Friday's injury
Phillips (back) is questionable for Sunday's game in New England after injuring his back during practice Friday, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.
Phillips will have just two days to recover from the injury, though at least he'll benefit from a few extra hours of healing time since the Dolphins play on SNF. The edge rusher had a career-high 11 tackles in the season opener.
Notches 11 tackles in win
Phillips recorded 11 tackles (six solo) in the Dolphins' 36-34 win over the Chargers in Week 1.
Phillips was very active in Miami's first game of the year, compiling a career-high 11 tackles in the opener. He was also able to bring Justin Herbert down, recording a half-sack in the victory.
