Won't suit up at Houston
Blount (knee) is listed as out for Sunday's game at the Texans, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Blount was unable to practice during the week, so it comes as no surprise that he won't play in Week 11. Buddha Baker and Jalen Thompson will likely have a duopoly on Arizona's snaps at safety Sunday.
Joins Cards' practice squad
Arizona signed Blount to its practice squad Monday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
After parting ways with Seattle at the end of August, Blount has now found an opportunity to make an impression with a different team. He played 175 snaps for the Seahawks in 2022, but they came exclusively on special teams.
Reaches injury settlement
Blount (shoulder) reached an injury settlement with the Seahawks on Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Blount reverted to the Seahawk's IR after going unclaimed off waivers. Once he's fully healthy, Blount will look to latch onto a team elsewhere.
Shifts to IR
Blount (shoulder) reverted to injured reserve Wednesday, per the NFL's official transaction log.
Blount suffered the injury in Saturday's preseason contest against the Packers and was subsequently waived Tuesday. The Virginia product will now be forced to miss the entirety of the 2023 season unless he reaches an injury settlement with the team.
Misses 53-man roster
Blount (shoulder) was waived/injured by Seattle on Tuesday, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.
Blount made the Seahawks' active roster last year as an undrafted free agent but suffered a shoulder injury in the team's preseason finale on Saturday. As a rookie, the 24-year-old appeared in 11 games, recording eight tackles and a fumble recovery.
Suffers shoulder injury
Blount sustained a shoulder injury during Saturday's 19-15 preseason loss to the Packers, Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle reports.
Head coach Pete Carroll confirmed the injury following the game. Blount was attended by trainers after being blocked at the end of a run by Packers' quarterback Jordan Love. Blount has been dealing with a back issue since Aug. 7 and this additional injury is a setback for his attempt to make the 53-man roster.
Will return shortly
Blount, who was carted off the field with a back injury Monday, should return early next week, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
Blount's injury is not serious according to head coach Pete Carrol, which is good news for the Virginia product. After appearing 11 games with the team last season and only getting work on special teams, Blount will try to get back on the practice field as he attempts to make the 53-man roster out of training camp.
Carted off field
Blount was carted off the field at Monday's practice after suffering an apparent back injury, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
There is currently no word on the severity of Blount's injury. It occurred when he was diving to try and catch a tipped pass in the end zone. He is competing for a depth safety role with the team.
