Despite having suffered a concussion less than a week ago, Franklin-Myers is on track to play in Week 3. He'll be hunting for his first sack of the season against a middling Buccaneers offensive line.

Franklin-Myers (concussion) was limited in Thursday's practice.
Franklin-Myers suffered a concussion during Denver's Week 2 loss to Pittsburgh. The 2018 fourth-round pick opened the week as a DNP on Wednesday, but his increased participation Thursday indicates that he is progressing through the league's protocols. If he's able to participate in full Friday, Franklin-Myers would have a good shot at playing against Tampa Bay on Sunday.

Franklin-Myers has yet to clear concussion protocol after sustaining the injury in the first quarter of Denver's Week 2 loss to the Steelers. If the Stephen F. Austin product is unable to move past protocol by the time of Sunday's contest, expect Jordan Jackson to serve as the Broncos' top right defensive end.

Franklin-Myers exited late in the first quarter of Sunday's game after sustaining a head injury. He was quickly ruled out thereafter after being diagnosed with a concussion, and he will finish the game with three solo tackles. Jordan Jackson will take over for Franklin-Myers at defensive end opposite starter Zach Allen for the rest of Sunday's game.

Traded to Denver

Franklin-Myers was traded from the Jets to the Broncos on Saturday, Al Iannazzone of Newsday reports.
In what was effectively a salary dump, the Jets acquired a sixth-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft for the defensive lineman. Franklin-Myers immediately steps in as Denver's starting defensive end and the fifth-year veteran should see ample playing time for a Broncos team retooling seemingly its entire roster on the fly.

Franklin-Myers posted 3.5 sacks among his 33 tackles (15 solo) and added three passes defensed in 2023.
Franklin-Myers is overshadowed by some bigger names on the Jets' defense, but he's a key contributor in his own right. JFM didn't miss a game in 2023 and played more than half of defensive snaps in all but three games. His ability to shift between the edge and interior should allow Franklin-Myers to reclaim a prominent role on New York's defensive line in 2024.

Even though Franklin-Myers was unable to practice all week due to a hip issue, the 27-year-old defensive end will still play in the Jets' Christmas Eve affair. The Stephen F. Austin product has logged 3.0 sacks and an additional two tackles for loss through 14 games this season, and he'll look to get after Sam Howell in Week 16.
