Lovett didn't play in the preseason opener and will look for an opportunity elsewhere. Taking his place on the roster is undrafted rookie RB Xazavian Valladay.

The Steelers signed Lovett on Monday, Alex Kozora of the Steelers Depot reports.
Lovett spent part of his rookie season on Carolina's practice squad and will now head to Pittsburgh to replace the injured Alfonzo Graham (shoulder). Though it's unlikely that the 23-year-old makes the final team, he can still compete for a spot on the practice squad.
