Ossai (ankle) was a full participant at practice Thursday, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.

After sitting out the first two games of the season, it looks like Ossai should be available for Monday's game versus the Rams. He'll mix in on the edge behind starters Sam Hubbard and Trey Hendrickson.

Remains out

Ossai (ankle) is inactive Sunday against the Ravens, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.

Ossai was not expected to play, so this doesn't come as too much of a surprise. The 23-year-old was limited in practice all week, which should give him the opportunity to return Week 3 against the Rams.

Not expected back in Week 2

Ossai (ankle) is not expected to play Week 2 versus the Ravens, Dan Graziano of reports.

Ossai has been limited in practice this week while recovering from his ankle injury and he now appears unlikely to return this weekend against Baltimore. The linebacker will now set his sights on the Bengals' Week 3 contest with the Rams.

Questionable for Week 2

Ossai (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game versus Baltimore.

After sitting out of Week 1 action with an ankle injury, Ossai now seems like a coin flip to play in Week 2 versus the Ravens. If he's forced to miss another game, 2021 fourth-rounder Cameron Sample will again be on deck for increased reps.

Limited in practice

Ossai (ankle) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.

Ossai has yet to fully recover from an ankle injury that kept him out of the team's Week 1 loss to the Browns. Though participating in practice is a good sign, it remains to be seen if the 23-year-old will be ready for Sunday's game against the Ravens.

Ruled out for Week 1

Ossai (ankle) won't play in Sunday's season opener against the Browns, per coach Zac Taylor, Geoff Hobson of the Bengals' official site reports.

Ossai was unable to practice in the leadup to Week 1 after suffering a high ankle sprain in the final preseason game. His next chance to suit up will come in Week 2 against the Ravens.

Unavailable for practice

Ossai (ankle) was a non-participant at the Bengals' practice Wednesday, Geoff Hobson of the team's official site reports.

As expected, Ossai was unable to practice for Cincinnati to open the week and he's unlikely to play in Week 1 versus the Browns, though the linebacker could return as soon as Week 2 according to Chris Roling of Bengals Wire. Ossai is still recovering from the high ankle sprain he suffered in the team's preseason finale Aug. 26.

Four week absence possible

Ossai (ankle) was told by the Bengals' team doctor that it could be up to four weeks before he's able to return, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

The Bengals and Ossai will check back in two weeks, so that indicates he'll miss Week 1 against the Browns and will probably also miss the Week 2 game against the Ravens.

Doubtful Week 1

Ossai has a high ankle sprain and is considered doubtful for the Bengals Week 1 contest in Cleveland, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Ossai suffered the injury in Cincinnati's preseason finale against the Commanders. He has enjoyed a healthy training camp after missing most of the team's offseason program recovering from a procedure to repair a torn labrum suffered during the 2022 season. When healthy, he is expected to provide depth and rotate in at defensive end for the Bengals.
