Solid 2023 campaign

RotoWire Logo Published: 2024-02-11

Reynolds caught 40 of 64 targets for 608 yards and five touchdowns over 17 games in 2023.

After averaging 56.8 yards with three touchdowns over the first six games of the year, Reynolds only collected 26.4 yards per game since that point. Part of his dip in production was tied to the return and then slight ascension of Jameson Williams, who missed the first four games of the year due to a gambling-related suspension but saw increased playing time as the year went on. While Reynolds is now set to become an unrestricted free agent, he will likely remain a fantasy afterthought wherever he lands.

Cleared to play

Reynolds (ribs) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game in San Francisco, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.

The Lions listed him as a limited practice participant Wednesday and Thursday before upgrading the wideout to full on Friday. Reynolds played 86 and 78 percent of snaps in the team's first two playoff games, catching seven of 10 targets for 107 yards and a touchdown in wins over the Rams and Buccaneers. He's gotten a bit more playing time than Jameson Williams, who has six playoff targets on snap shares of 70 and 58 percent.

Remains limited Thursday

Reynolds (ribs) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday.

Reynolds now has put together back-to-back capped sessions to begin preparations for Sunday's NFC Championship Game at San Francisco due to a rib injury. His activity level at Friday's practice likely will determine whether or not he enters the weekend with a designation. Since the Lions' Week 9 bye, Reynolds has surpassed 20 receiving yards only five times in 11 contests en route to a cumulative 25-318-3 line on 43 targets.

Dealing with rib issue

Reynolds was limited at Wednesday's walkthrough due to a rib injury.

Reynolds previously tended to groin and back issues this season, but he's suited up for all 19 games, including playoffs. His snap share has wavered at times along the way, but he's surpassed 60 percent in five consecutive contests, a span in which he put together a 14-180-1 line on 23 targets. The modest output comes as no surprise in a Detroit passing game that revolves around WR Amon-Ra St. Brown and TE Sam LaPorta (knee), and a new health concern now is impacting Reynolds ahead of Sunday's NFC Championship Game in San Francisco.

Ties season high in catches

RotoWire Logo Published: 2024-01-07

Reynolds caught five of seven targets for 44 yards during Sunday's 30-20 win over the Vikings.

Reynolds technically saw his most action in the passing game since Week 1, and it came in the absence of Jameson Williams (ankle). However, with the receiver needing 36 receiving yards to hit 600 on the year and trigger a $250k bonus in his contract, quarterback Jared Goff peppered Reynolds with four straight passes on Detroit's final four offensive plays of the game. Reynolds otherwise finished a distant third in targets behind Amon-Ra St. Brown and Sam LaPorta (ankle). With that said, each of LaPorta, Williams, and/or Kalif Raymond (knee) could be banged up entering the Wild Card Round of the playoffs, leaving Reynolds as the potential No. 2 option in the passing game ahead of a revenge game with the Rams.

Earns two targets

RotoWire Logo Published: 2024-01-01

Reynolds caught one of two passes for 13 yards during Saturday's 20-19 loss to the Cowboys.

Logging 68 percent of the offensive snaps, Reynolds saw his highest snap share in weeks on a day that the Lions heavily utilized three-receiver formations. With Jameson Williams (ankle), who logged 64 percent of the snaps, tending to a minor injury, Reynolds could return to being the clear No. 2 option at wide receiver behind Amon-Ra St. Brown during the regular-season finale Sunday against Minnesota.

Minimal production in Week 16

RotoWire Logo Published: 2023-12-27

Reynolds caught one of four targets for 16 yards in Sunday's 30-24 win over the Vikings.

Reynolds played the second-most offensive snaps (46) at wide receiver behind Amon-Ra St. Brown (78), but he was unable to get much going throughout the contest. Despite the down performance, it is promising that the veteran wideout remains a key member of the Lions' passing attack on an offense flush with playmakers. Reynolds will look to bounce back in a Week 17 matchup with the Cowboys.

Makes some plays

RotoWire Logo Published: 2023-12-18

Reynolds caught two of three targets for 41 yards during Saturday's win over Denver.

Posting more than 40 receiving yards in back-to-back games, Reynolds is showing a little life after previously failing to top 15 yards since Week 7. However, it is starting to look like Jameson Williams is taking hold of the No. 2 spot on the depth chart after setting career highs with seven targets and 69 percent of the snaps (compared to 58 percent for Reynolds). It will be hard to trust Reynolds for fantasy production in a Week 16 showdown with Minnesota.

Suiting up Saturday

RotoWire Logo Published: 2023-12-16

Reynolds (back) is listed as active Saturday against the Broncos.

Reynolds logged limited practices to wrap up Week 15 prep Wednesday and Thursday, taking a questionable designation into the weekend. No matter, he'll be available to the Lions offense Saturday against a Denver defense that has given up the eighth-most yards per target (8.6) to opposing wide receivers this season.
