Agrees on injury settlement
After reverting to the Titans' injured reserve, Tennessee waived Thompson with an injury settlement Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Thompson spent the first half of training camp on the active/non-football illness list. After returning, he began competing for a depth safety role with the club. Now that he has reached an injury settlement, the 24-year-old will be free to play again this season.

The Titans waived Thompson (undisclosed) with an injury designation Monday, Nick Suss of the Tennessean reports.
Thompson spent much of training camp on the active/non-football illness list, but it remains to be seen if his current issue is related to what held him out then. The 24-year-old contributed on special teams in six games with Tennessee last season.
Ready to practice
Thompson was activated from the non-football illness list Monday, John Glennon of SI.com reports.
Thompson will now be able to practice with the team and get to work on earning a spot on the final 53-man roster. The 24-year-old was able to make six appearances with the Titans last season, seeing all of his work on special teams.
Starts camp on NFI list
Thompson (illness) will begin training camp on the Titans' active/NFI list, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
While it isn't clear what sort of illness Thompson is dealing with, he will be eligible to practice and play in the preseason once healthy. Thompson played all 83 snaps on special teams last year and recorded four tackles in six games.
Available for Week 18
Thompson (concussion) does not carry an injury designation heading into Saturday's game against the Jaguars, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Thompson had missed both of Tennessee's previous two matchups as a result of a concussion, but after he logged three consecutive practices without limitations this week, the 24-year-old safety is in line to continue operating as a strict special-teams contributor this weekend versus Jacksonville.
