Not practicing
Hill (toe) isn't at practice Wednesday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
Gus Edwards, on the other hand, is suited up for practice just three days after his early departure from a loss to Indianapolis to be evaluated for a concussion. Hill and Edwards split the workload Week 2 after J.K. Dobbins' season-ending Achilles tear in the season opener, but Hill then missed Week 3 against the Colts while recovering from turf toe. Hill appears in danger of missing another game when the Ravens travel to Cleveland this Sunday, with Melvin Gordon and Kenyan Drake being the alternatives if both Hill and Edwards are out.

Ruled out for Week 3
Hill (foot) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Colts.
With Hill --who didn't practice this week -- ruled out, look for Gus Edwards to lead the Ravens' backfield in Week 3, with practice squad members Melvin Gordon and/or Kenyan Drake candidates to be elevated and handle complementary work versus Indianapolis. Hill's next chance to suit up for game action will arrive in Week 4, when Baltimore faces Cleveland.
Remains sidelined Friday
Hill (foot) wasn't present for practice Friday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
The Ravens officially list Hill as having a foot injury, but Hensley previously suggested that the running back is dealing with a toe issue. Friday's injury report will clarify whether Hill has a chance to play Sunday against the Colts, but if he's out or limited this weekend, Gus Edwards would likely start the contest, with practice squad members Melvin Gordon and/or Kenyan Drake candidates to handle complementary backfield work.
Not practicing Thursday
Hill (toe) isn't participating in Thursday's practice, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
Hill is dealing with turf toe in the aftermath of the Ravens' 27-24 win over the Bengals this past Sunday, when he stepped into an expanded role sans J.K. Dobbins (Achilles) and finished with 53 total yards on 14 touches. Now missing from practice for the second day in a row to begin Week 3 prep, Hill's availability for this Sunday's game against the Colts appears to be uncertain. If Hill ends up sitting out this weekend, Gus Edwards would likely operate as the Ravens' clear top option on the ground, while Melvin Gordon and/or Kenyan Drake could be elevated from the practice squad to handle change-of-pace roles.
Has toe injury
Hill is dealing with a toe injury that could impact his availability for Sunday's game against the Colts, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
Per Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com, Hill wasn't at practice Wednesday and now we know why. If Hill, who Fowler suggests isn't thought to be looking at a lengthy absence, is out or limited this weekend, Gus Edwards would be next up for the Ravens' carries, with some combo of practice squad members Melvin Gordon and Kenyan Drake also in the team's Week 3 backfield mix.
Not seen at practice
Hill isn't at practice Wednesday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
No injury was reported during or after Sunday's 27-24 win over the Bengals, but Hill's absence Wednesday combined with the addition of Kenyan Drake to the practice squad suggests Hill is banged up. He took 14 touches for 53 yards this past Sunday, with Gus Edwards taking 10 carries for 62 yards and a TD.
Gets 14 touches in Week 2 win
Hill rushed 11 times for 41 yards and caught all three of his targets for 12 yards in Sunday's 27-24 win over the Bengals.
Hill finished third on the team in rushing yards behind Gus Edwards (62 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries) and Lamar Jackson (54 yards on 12 carries). All three should continue to see substantial volume on the ground in Week 3 against the Colts, and Hill's the top pass catching option out of the backfield with J.K. Dobbins (Achilles) done for the season. Hill's averaging just 2.5 yards per carry this season compared to Edwards' 5.2.
Pair of scores after Dobbins exit
Hill rushed eight times for nine yards and two touchdowns in the Ravens' 25-9 win over the Texans on Sunday.
Hill received an unexpected bump in opportunity after J.K. Dobbins was forced from the game with what has now been confirmed as a season-ending Achilles tendon tear. The fourth-year back took advantage of the extra touches, recording his first two touchdowns since his rookie 2019 campaign on a pair of two-yard runs in the third quarter. Given Dobbins' unavailability the rest of the way, Hill should slot into a relatively consistent complementary role behind Gus Edwards, although there's a possibility Melvin Gordon and/or Owen Wright are summoned from the practice squad ahead of a Week 2 road matchup against the Bengals.
Another strong preseason showing
Hill had two carries for 25 yards and one catch for 13 yards in Monday's preseason game at Washington, playing the opening drive before exiting for the night.
With J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards held out alongside most of Baltimore's other key players, Hill cemented himself ahead of fellow backup RBs Melvin Gordon and Keaton Mitchell. The fifth-year pro has six touches for 86 yards through two preseason games, and there's some chance his relative advantages in speed and receiving skills allow him to pressure Edwards for the No. 2 spot in an offense that's expected to throw more often than in past seasons under the guidance of new OC Todd Monken. It's possible Hill is among the players rested Saturday when the Ravens host the Bucs in their final preseason game.
