Returns to action

White (biceps) took part in Arizona's first OTA Monday, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.

The linebacker tore his biceps in Week 11 of the 2023 season and missed the last six games. Before going out with the injury, White recorded 90 tackles and three passes defensed. The Cardinals signed him to a two-year, $10-million contract in 2023, so White should be in line to start this year if he stays healthy.

Nearing full recovery

RotoWire Logo Published: 2024-03-26

White (biceps) is expected to be "pretty much full tilt" when the Cardinals begin their offseason programs, according to head coach Jonathan Gannon, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.

White suffered a torn biceps in Week 11 and finished the 2023 campaign on IR, after appearing in 11 games and recording 90 combined tackles including 2.0 sacks. With the team expecting him to be able to take part in offseason programs, there shouldn't be any reason to believe the West Virginia product won't be ready for the 2024 campaign.

Officially placed on IR

White (biceps) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, Darrin Urban of the Cardinals' official website reports.

White suffered a torn biceps in Sunday's loss to the Texans, so this move was more of a formality. It will be a significant loss for Arizona's defense, as he was a captain and had played a team-high 709 defensive snaps. In his absence, Krys Barnes will presumably fill in at middle linebacker.

Done for year with torn biceps

White suffered a torn biceps tendon in Sunday's loss to the Texans and will miss the remainder of the season, Bob McManaman of The Arizona Republic reports.

White has played a team-high 709 defensive snaps this season as the captain of coach Jonathan Gannon's defense after following him over from the Eagles. White started all 11 games and was on pace for a career year with 90 tackles (53 solo), nine TFLs, two sacks, one interception and three pass breakups. Josh Woods is a candidate to take over as an every-down linebacker.

Departs Week 11 with elbow issue

White is questionable to return to Sunday's game against Houston due to an elbow injury.

White hurt his elbow in the first half and subsequently stood on the sideline without a helmet. The Cardinals have since deemed him questionable to return to the Week 11 matchup. Prior to exiting, White tallied three tackles (two solo). He hadn't missed a defensive snap all season coming into Sunday.

Cards' leading tackler vs. Falcons

White recorded 11 tackles (six solo) in Sunday's 25-23 win versus Atlanta.

In a game where the Falcons ran the ball 41 times, White was busy, and it showed in the box score. It was the third time this season White's managed a double-digit tackle total, putting him on pace for a career year in that category. The Cardinals will travel to take on a more balanced Houston offense in Week 11.

Makes seven stops in loss

White totaled seven tackles (three solo), including one for loss, in Sunday's Week 9 defeat to the Browns.

White finished second on Arizona in tackles in the ugly loss. The veteran linebacker has been a consistent IDP performer this year, finishing below seven stops just once through nine games. With 76 total tackles thus far, he could challenge the career-best mark of 144 total stops that he established in 2021 with the Chargers.

Tackle leader Sunday

White had nine tackles (seven solo) in Sunday's 31-24 loss to the Ravens.

White leads the team with 69 tackles (42 solo) in eight games and, perhaps more impressively, has played every single defensive snap this season. He's on pace to register 100-plus tackles for the third straight season and his two sacks on the year is already a career-high.

Records eight tackles, sack Sunday

White recorded eight tackles (five solo) and one sack in the Cardinals' Week 6 loss to the Rams Sunday.

One of coach Jonathan Gannon's players he brought with him from Philadelphia to Arizona, White has already set a new career-high with two sacks this season. He also leads the team with 55 tackles (32 solo), adding five tackles for loss, one interception and one pass breakup.
