Waived by New York
The Giants waived Johnson (undisclosed) from injured reserve with a settlement Tuesday, Michael Eisen of the team's official site reports.
Johnson was originally placed on injured reserve last week after clearing waivers but will now head back there once again. The 2022 undrafted free agent has never appeared in an NFL game and will look to get healthy and catch on with another team.
Reverts to Giants
Johnson (undisclosed) reverted to the Giants' injured reserve Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Johnson was waived with an injury designation July 19 but went unclaimed on waivers. He underwent surgery to repair a torn ACL ahead of the 2022 NFL Draft, though it's unclear if that is still the issue that is plaguing him.
Waived/injured by G-Men
The Giants waived/injured Johnson (undisclosed) on Wednesday.
Johnson suffered a torn ACL while training for last year's NFL Draft and has yet to appear in an NFL game. He signed with the Giants back in March but apparently isn't healthy. Assuming Johnson clears waivers, he'd then revert to the Giants' injured reserve list where. An injury settlement might be in his future.
Gets chance with G-Men
The Giants agreed to terms Monday with Johnson (knee) on a three-year contract, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Johnson went undrafted out of Duke after suffering a torn ACL while training for the 2022 NFL Draft, but he's now back to full health with a chance to compete for a depth role in New York. The 6-foot, 194-pound cornerback could have to display acumen on special teams for a chance at earning a roster spot beyond the offseason.
