Limited to special teams
Cine played 12 snaps on special teams in Sunday's loss to Tampa Bay and did not have a tackle.
Cine played in his first regular season game after suffering a season-ending compound fracture in his left leg during Week 4 last season. It was thought Cine would challenge for playing time or even a starting safety role this preseason when back to full strength, but he didn't impress in the preseason. He may be limited to special teams unless injuries strike the secondary.

Warming up Saturday
Cine (undisclosed) is warming up and appears prepared to play in Saturday's preseason finale versus the Cardinals, Andrew Krammer of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Cine suffered a minor, low-grade, soft-tissue injury earlier in the week at practice, but he appears to be recovered from the issue. He is attempting to lock up a spot on the Vikings' final 53-man roster as a backup to Camryn Bynum at free safety.
Dealing with minor injury
Cine (undisclosed) is recovering from a low-grade, soft-tissue injury, per coach Kevin O'Connell, Ben Goessling of the Star Tribune reports.
O'Connell doesn't expect a long-term absence for Cine. Once healthy, Cine will try to finally stay that way for an extended period at the NFL level, as the 2022 first-round pick was limited to three appearances as a rookie by a broken leg.
Plays first game since broken leg
Cine had three total tackles and played 40 snaps on defense in Thursday's preseason loss at Seattle.
Cine showed he's fully healthy after last year's broken leg by making an impressive tackle on the defense's first play of the game. The 2022 first-round draft pick missed all but three games last year due to a broken leg. He's currently third or fourth on the safety depth chart, but could get action in three-safety sets and could contend for a starting job later in the season.
Full participant at OTAs
Cine (leg) has been a full participant at the Vikings' OTAs this week, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports.
Cine suffered a season-ending compound fracture of his left leg last October, but the 23-year-old appears healthy heading into the 2023 campaign. The free safety was selected in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft and went without a tackle while logging 36 total snaps last season, 34 of them on special teams. Cine will now compete with Camryn Bynum for a starting role in the Vikings' secondary ahead of his sophomore year in the NFL.
Recovering well
Cine is progressing well as he recovers from a fractured leg, Lindsey Young of the Vikings' official site reports.
Cine fractured his leg during the team's Week 4 game against the Saints, which sidelined him for the rest of the year. The 2022 first-round pick played just two defensive snaps and did not record a tackle during his rookie campaign. Cine has begun running at full speed and will aim to be ready for the start of the season.
On track for return
Head coach Kevin O'Connell said Thursday that Cine (leg) is doing very well in his recovery, and could participate in phase 3 of OTAs, Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Cine suffered a fractured leg Week 4 against the Saints, which required surgery and sidelined the rookie for the remainder of the season. However, he appears to be on track to be a full participant when training camp comes, if not during OTAs.
