More snaps but no receptions
Goodwin did not catch either of his two targets in Monday's 26-22 loss to Pittsburgh in Week 2.
Goodwin upped his snap count from 10 to 15 but hasn't been able to connect with quarterback Deshaun Watson. His two targets Monday were deep routes just as the two targets in Week 1 were. Goodwin entered Monday's contest with an average-depth-of-target of 43.0 yards.

Limited snap count
Goodwin did not catch either of his two targets over 10 snaps in Sunday's 24-3 win over Cincinnati in Week 1.
Goodwin was part of the second tier on the wideout depth chart, joining rookie Cedric Tillman (10 snaps) and second-year wideout David Bell (10 snaps). Cleveland threw the ball just 29 times compared to 40 rushes, which was surprising given the attention focused on the wideouts during the offseason. A passing-oriented offense did not emerge Week 1, but there may be opportunities down the road for field-stretching Goodwin.
Removed from injury report
Goodwin (illness) was removed from the injury report and will play Sunday against the Bengals, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
Goodwin spent much of the summer on the active/NFI list with blood clots but returned to practice Sept. 1 and appears ready to go. The speedy veteran is expected to serve a deep-threat role behind Amari Cooper, Donovan Peoples-Jones and Elijah Moore this season.
Limited practice Wednesday
Goodwin (illness) logged a limited practice Wednesday.
Goodwin has been dealing with blood clots since the beginning of preseason camp, so his ability to practice Wednesday is a positive sign for his chances to play Week 1 against the Bengals. The wide receiver will have two more chances to ramp up his activity this week before the beginning of the regular season.
Joins practice
Goodwin joined teammates on the practice field Tuesday, Doc Louallen of the Browns' official site reports.
Goodwin was removed from the non-football illness list earlier in the week and practiced for the first time during preseason training. He missed all of training camp with blood clots, but Goodwin is expected to be ready for the season opener against Cincinnati. Goodwin will serve as deep-threat specialist but will not crack the top three targets. If all remain healthy, Amari Cooper, Elijah Moore and Donovan Peoples-Jones should be the most frequently targeted by quarterback Deshaun Watson.
Set to come off NFI list
Head coach Kevin Stefanski said Goodwin (illness) will come off the non-football illness list Sunday and will return to practice, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
Goodwin was placed on the active/non-football illness list by the Browns in mid-July after he was diagnosed with blood clots in his legs and lungs. Given the issue was potentially career ending, it's a great sign to see the wideout cleared to resume football activities. However, Goodwin still has an uphill battle to land a spot on the initial 53-man roster, as the only locks at wideout are Amari Cooper, Elijah Moore, Donovan Peoples-Jones and Cedric Tillman, leaving Goodwin to compete with David Bell, Jaelon Darden (leg), Anthony Schwartz (hamstring) and Austin Watkins.
Not playing Saturday
Goodwin (illness) will not play the preseason finale against the Chiefs on Saturday, Doc Louallen of the Browns' official site reports.
Goodwin remains on the active/non-football injury list due to blood cots, and his status for Week 1 against the Bengals is unknown. The Browns may be leaning toward keeping six receivers, and Goodwin would be among those six if he were healthy. The four locks are Amari Cooper, Elijah Moore, Donovan Peoples-Jones and Cedric Tillman. Beyond that, wide receivers in the mix for the final spots are David Bell, Jaelon Darden, Jakeem Grant, Anthony Schwartz (hamstring) and Austin Watkins.
Placed on active/NFI list
Goodwin (illness) was placed on the active/NFI list Friday, Cory Kinnan of Browns Wire reports.
Goodwin will open camp on the sidelines with an illness, but he'll be eligible to return to practice and play at any point this preseason. With the Browns' first contest coming Aug. 3 versus the Jets, there's a realistic shot that the wide receiver is ready to go for the game.
Inks deal with Cleveland
The Browns signed Goodwin (shoulder) to a one-year contract Friday, ESPN's Field Yates reports.
Turning 33 later this year, Goodwin is coming off a 2022 campaign with the Seahawks that saw him catch 27 passes for 387 yards and four touchdowns as the third receiver behind Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf. In Cleveland, Goodwin joins fellow newcomer Elijah Moore alongside Amari Cooper and Donovan Peoples-Jones in the Browns' revamped wideout room. At this stage, Goodwin should be past the shoulder and wrist issues that cost him the final two games of last season.
