Carter will miss a second consecutive game due to this injury, so Brandin Echols and Bryce Hall should continue to see added playing time at cornerback alongside Sauce Gardner and D.J. Reed. Carter's next chance to take the field will come against the Falcons on Dec. 3.

Carter (hamstring) was a non-participant during Thursday's walkthrough practice, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Carter is expected to miss his second straight game with the injury, although he hasn't officially been ruled out yet. His absence would lead to an increase in opportunities for Brandin Echols against the Dolphins on Friday.

Carter (hamstring) is inactive for Sunday's contest versus Buffalo.
Carter came into the weekend without an injury designation, but he was added to the injury report and deemed questionable on Saturday due to a hamstring issue. Given the nature of such injuries, it's not surprising that the cornerback won't be able to take the field Sunday. Brandin Echols and Jarrick Bernard-Converse should see more work in Carter's stead. Meanwhile, Carter will look to return for Week 12, though that might be challenging given the short turnaround with the Jets next playing on Friday versus Miami.
Dealing with hamstring issue

The third-year cornerback out of Duke was surprisingly added to New York's injury report Saturday after logging a full week of practice. If Carter were to miss this Sunday's contest, Brandin Echols and Jarrick Bernard-Converse would likely see an uptick in snaps in the Jets' secondary.

After consecutive days of limited participation at practice, Carter logged a full workload Friday and looks good to go for Week 3. He has accumulated eight tackles (six solo) on 87 defensive snaps through two games this season.
Team cautious with injury

Carter (elbow) did not return to Sunday's 30-10 loss to the Jets, Eric Allen of the Jets' official site reports.
Carter reportedly could have returned to the game, but the Jets were content with taking the cautious approach with their nickel cornerback. The 24-year-old seems likely to be able to play in Week 3 versus New England, but more information on his status will likely come when New York returns to practice this week.
Suffers elbow injury

Carter is questionable to return to Sunday's game against Dallas due to an elbow injury.
Carter recorded three tackles before suffering the injury. If he's unable to return, Justin Hardee and Brandin Echols would be candidates for increased snaps behind D.J. Reed and Sauce Gardner.
