Officially moved to IR

The Saints placed Adebo (upper leg) on injured reserve Tuesday.

Adebo suffered a broken femur during the Saints' Week 7 loss to the Broncos on Thursday. He underwent season-ending surgery Friday, and he'll shift his focus toward being fully healthy for the 2025 campaign. Adebo's move to IR makes room on the 53-man roster for the Saints' signing of wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling.

Undergoes season-ending surgery

Adebo (upper leg) underwent season-ending surgery Friday morning to address a broken right femur sustained during Thursday's 33-10 loss to the Broncos, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Adebo is facing an expected recovery timetable of 4-to-5 months, which Schefter notes could allow him to be fully healthy by March, when he's scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent. The 2021 third-round pick was in the middle of a breakout season with the Saints, but he'll now need to turn his focus toward making a full recovery for the 2025 campaign. The loss of Adebo figures to propel rookie first-round pick Kool-Aid McKinstry into a starting role alongside Marshon Lattimore (hamstring).

Suffers broken femur

Adebo suffered a broken femur in Thursday's 33-10 loss to the Broncos, Ross Jackson of WWL Louisiana reports.

Adebo suffered an apparent serious injury in the first half of Thursday's loss and was carted off the field in an air cast. After being taken to a local hospital for further evaluation, he was diagnosed with a femur injury and will almost certainly be out of the season. The development is tough luck for Adebo, who was in the midst of a breakout season and will be headed to free agency this offseason.

Carted off

Adebo (knee) will not return to Thursday's game against the Broncos, Luke Johnson of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.

The cornerback was carted off with his right leg in an air cast, per Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com. Adebo still leads the Saints with six tackles (three solo) in Thursday's game. Kool-Aid McKinstry came in for him.

Productive in Week 6

Adebo tallied 10 tackles (eight solo) and intercepted a pass Sunday in a loss to Tampa Bay.

New Orleans' defense gave up 325 passing yards and four passing touchdowns against Baker Mayfield, but it also picked off three of Mayfield's passes. Adebo nabbed one of those, intercepting a pass intended for Mike Evans and returning it 20 yards in the second quarter. Adebo has had a keen eye for the ball this season with three pickoffs through six weeks, and Sunday also marked his third double-digit tackle performance of the campaign.

The cornerback has now compiled 32 total tackles (28 solo), two interceptions and seven passes defensed over four games in 2024.

Adebo (groin) returned to full-team drills Wednesday, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports.

Adebo missed the last couple of weeks due to a groin injury, but it now appears he's moved past the issue. The Stanford product finished his 2023 campaign with 76 total tackles and 18 passes defended, including four interceptions, across 15 regular-season games. He's expected to remain one of New Orleans' top cornerbacks in 2024.
