Racks up 11 tackles Week 3
Werner recorded 11 tackles (seven solo) in Sunday's loss to Green Bay.
Werner was on the field for all but one of New Orleans' defensive snaps and led the team in total tackles. The 11 stops were the most so far this season for the linebacker, who tallied 15 tackles over his first two contests. Werner appears on pace to surpass the career-best 80 tackles he recorded last year.

Seven tackles in win
Werner recorded seven tackles (three solo) in Monday's 20-17 win over the Panthers.
Werner finished tied with Marcus Maye and Demario Davis for the team lead in takedowns. The linebacker has recorded 15 tackles over the first two games of the season and he seems likely to surpass his career high of 80 tackles from 2022 if he remains as heavily involved moving forward.
Solid in 2023 opener
Werner recorded eight tackles and 0.5 sacks in Sunday's 16-15 win versus the Titans.
Werner made good on ample opportunities to defend the run in Week 1, and he's now on pace for the first 100-tackle season of his career. He should continue to see a heavy workload when New Orleans travels to Carolina in Week 2.
Impressive showing in Year 2
Werner posted 80 tackles (56 solo), three passes defended and two forced fumbles while playing 12 of 17 games in the 2022 season.
Werner posted career highs in tackles and passes defended despite playing three fewer games than he did during his 2021 rookie season. The second-round pick stepped up into a significantly larger role alongside veteran linebacker Demario Davis to begin the 2022 campaign, as he logged double-digit tackles in three of the first eight games. Werner then sustained an ankle injury Week 9 and missed some time before returning for three of the final four regular-season games, though he played markedly fewer defensive snaps down the stretch. Nevertheless, he still finished third on the team in tackles this season and should be poised for another prominent role in 2023.
Available for Week 17
Werner (hamstring) is active for Sunday's game against the Eagles, per the team's official site.
After practicing on a limited basis in each session earlier this week, Werner will now avoid missing a second straight contest as a result of a hamstring injury. The second-year pro figures to capture the first takeaway of his NFL career this weekend versus Philadelphia.
Questionable against Eagles
Werner (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Eagles, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
Werner sat out last week against the Browns due to a hamstring injury and was limited during each of the Saints' practice sessions ahead of their Week 17 matchup against the Eagles. If he's unavailable once again, Kaden Elliss will likely continue to see increased playing time.
