The Lions have released Cephus, NFL.com reports.
The move follows news that Cephus has been suspended indefinitely for violating the league's gambling policy. Per Eric Woodyard of ESPN, Cephus can reapply for reinstatement after one year. The 2020 fifth-rounder is coming off a 2022 season in which a foot injury limited him to four games with Detroit, during which he caught two passes for 15 yards.
