The Jets officially signed Cobb (ankle) to a one-year contract Wednesday, Randy Lange of the team's official site reports.
Aaron Rodgers now has a pair of familiar faces in New York's receiving corps in the form of Cobb and Allen Lazard as the quarterback makes his transition from Green Bay. The 12-year pro thus will reunite with Rodgers and offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett, coming off a 2022 campaign in which Cobb put together a 34-417-1 line on 50 targets in 13 games. Cobb currently is in recovery mode from offseason ankle surgery, but his experience with Rodgers should allow him to hit the ground running once he's back to full health.

The Jets are expected to sign Cobb (ankle) to a one-year contract Wednesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Cobb won't have an easy path to playing time alongside the likes of Garrett Wilson, Allen Lazard, Corey Davis and Mecole Hardman, but his presence could be an indication that New York envisions more changes to come in the receiving room. Davis, in particular, has been regularly mentioned in trade rumors this off-season. Cobb is coming off ankle surgery, but his familiar with Rodgers means he shouldn't require as many practice reps as usual to acclimate to a depth role in the Jet's offense.

Cobb recently underwent ankle surgery, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.
The surgery was to "clean out the back of his ankle," according to Rapoport. The 32-year-old Cobb caught 34 passes for 417 yards and one touchdown on 50 targets across 13 games for the Packers last season. He's scheduled to be a free agent later this month. It's unclear at this point if Cobb plans to keep playing in 2023.

Cobb was targeted 50 times and caught 34 passes for 417 yards and a touchdown over 13 appearances during the 2022 campaign.
Cobb drew more looks than he did in each of the previous two seasons, but due to an ankle injury and some younger receivers on the roster emerging, the 12-year veteran recorded only 25 targets and 168 yards after Week 5. Cobb could return to Green Bay if quarterback Aaron Rodgers does, but if Rodgers goes, Cobb likely will, too.

Cobb was targeted twice and caught two passes for 20 yards in Sunday's 41-17 victory over the Vikings.
Cobb played nearly 50 percent of the snaps for the fourth time in five weeks, but he drew only two passes in his direction for a second straight game. Assuming the Packers have all their receivers available for next week's regular-season finale against the Lions, he figures to remain in a part-time role.
