Good to go
Spillane (ankle) is active for Sunday's game against the Chiefs.
Spillane was a limited participant in all three practices leading up to Week 12. He's played every single defensive snap in each of the last four games and is coming off a team-high 13 tackles in last week's loss to the Dolphins.
Could sit Sunday due to ankle issue
Spillane (ankle) is questionable for Sunday's Week 12 contest versus the Chiefs, Rachel Gossen of the Raiders' official site reports.
Spillane played every defensive snap and tallied a team-high 13 tackles in a loss to Miami last Sunday, but he's been hobbled by an ankle injury during Week 12 prep. The linebacker logged a trio of limited practice sessions and enters the weekend with a questionable tag ahead of Sunday's clash with Kansas City. Spillane has rarely missed a defensive down for Las Vegas this season and leads the team with 94 stops and three interceptions, so an absence against the Chiefs would be keenly felt.
Leads team in tackles
Spillane recorded 13 tackles (six solo) and a pass deflection during Sunday's 20-13 loss to Miami.
Spillane had one of most productive games of the season, as he led the team in tackles. The 27-year-old registered double-digit tackles for the first time since Week 2 versus the Bills and has now compiled 94 tackles (49 solo) through 11 games.
Huge interception in close matchup
Spillane recorded seven tackles, one sack and one interception in Sunday's 16-12 win over the Jets.
Spillane continued to lead the defense Sunday, tying for the most tackles and recording a sack late in the second quarter. The linebacker's most notable play was late in the fourth quarter when he intercepted Jets quarterback Zach Wilson after the offense marched down to the Raiders' 20-yard-line. The 27-year-old almost doubles the next linebacker Divine Deablo in team snap count and has proven himself as a legitimate IDP asset with 81 tackles and three interceptions this year.
Will play Sunday
Spillane (hand) is active Sunday against the Giants.
Spillane didn't miss a defensive snap in Monday's loss to the Lions, so it's not clear when he suffered the injury. However, it's a moot point, as the Western Michigan product feels well enough to take the field in Week 9 and should start at middle linebacker.
Questionable due to hand injury
Spillane is considered questionable for Sunday's Week 9 clash with the Giants due to a hand injury, Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.
Spillane played 100 percent of the Raiders' defensive snaps this past Monday against Detroit, but he apparently picked up a hand injury as he began Week 9 prep with a DNP. He's since been able to log a pair of limited practices, so he has a chance to suit up versus New York on Sunday. Las Vegas will be without Divine Deablo (ankle) and Luke Masterson (concussion) for that contest, so they'll be perilously thin at linebacker if Spillane is forced to sit out as well. In that scenario, Jaylon Smith -- who signed with the Raiders off New Orleans' practice squad Thursday -- could be thrust into a major role right away.
Leads team in tackles again
Spillane recorded eight tackles (five solo) in Sunday's 30-12 loss at Chicago.
Spillane tallied seven-plus tackles for the sixth time in seven games this season in Week 7, easily maintaining pace for a career year in that category. He has also led Las Vegas' linebackers in snaps in every game in 2023, and he should continue to do so in Week 8 at Detroit.
Leading tackler in win
Spillane recorded seven tackles (four solo) in Sunday's 21-17 win over New England.
Spillane continues to succeed in his first year as a full-time starter, as he's recorded under seven tackles in a game just once thus far. The Western Michigan product leads Las Vegas in tackles and is tied for the lead in interceptions through the first six games of the season. He's easily having the most productive year of his career, logging 49 tackles, two interceptions and one sack. Expect Spillane to continue making plays for the Raiders' defense as the year goes on.
