Only wants to play three more years

Latest Headline: Published 2023-04-06

Hill told former teammates Anthony Sherman and Gehrig Dieter that he wants to retire after 2025, per Tyler Greenawalt of Yahoo Sports.

Hill made the comment five weeks after his 29th birthday on March 1, suggesting he wants to retire at the conclusion of his age-31 season. Given how well he's aged so far, it seems only injuries would prevent him from still being one of the fastest players in the league at that time. This is something to at least make note of for dynasty leagues, though Hill could easily change his mind three years from now and would only be missing out on post-prime years anyway if he does end up retiring a bit early by the standards of a superstar player. He had career highs for targets, catches and receiving yards in 2022 -- his debut campaign with the Dolphins -- and while he's technically now entering the first season of a four-year, $120 million extension it's really more like a three-year, $75 million contract for practical purposes given that there's $45 million in non-guaranteed compensation scheduled for the final season (2026).

Agrees to contract adjustment

Latest Headline: Published 2023-03-10

Hill restructured his contract with the Dolphins on Friday to convert his $10 million roster bonus into a $24.84 million bonus and his $16 million salary into a $1.17 million salary, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Hill's restructured opens up about $18 million in cap space for Miami as the team prepares to tackle free agency. The star wideout remains under contract for the Dolphins for the next three seasons after having put together a career 119-1,710-8 receiving line last year. By all accounts, Hill looks to be in prime position for another high-end fantasy season in Year 2 of coach Mike McDaniel's scheme, with Tua Tagovailoa primed to return as his starting quarterback.

Leading receiver in wild-card round

Latest Headline: Published 2023-01-15

Hill caught seven of 15 targets for 69 yards in Sunday's 34-31 loss to the Bills in the wild-card round. He also rushed two times for five yards.

Hill led Miami in all major receiving categories, but his output was limited compared to its usual level as fill-in quarterback Skylar Thompson averaged just 4.9 yards per attempt while throwing two interceptions. Despite being subjected to a revolving door of signal-callers in his first season with the Dolphins, Hill still racked up career highs in catches (119), targets (170) and receiving yards (1,710) while totaling eight touchdowns to boot. With unmatched, game-breaking speed, Hill should remain a dominant force in 2023, when Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) is expected to return as the team's starting quarterback.

Struggles in regular-season finale

Latest Headline: Published 2023-01-08

Hill brought in two of five targets for 23 yards in the Dolphins' 11-6 win over the Jets on Sunday.

It was a forgettable afternoon overall for Hill on an individual level, although the overriding storyline naturally was the Dolphins' ability to secure a wild-card spot with the victory. Hill exited the game at one point with an ankle issue but was able to return, but he'll head into next weekend's road wild-card matchup against the Bills with a combined 6-78 line over the final two games of the regular season and no immediate insight into which quarterback he'll be working with.

Returns to game

Latest Headline: Published 2023-01-08

Hill (ankle) has returned to Sunday's game against the Jets, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

The wideout was previously forced out of the contest with an ankle issue, but he's back in and should resume his key role in Miami's passing offense versus New York.

Hurts ankle Sunday

Latest Headline: Published 2023-01-08

Hill was forced out of Sunday's game against the Jets with an ankle injury.

Before leaving the contest, Hill caught two of his four targets for 23 yards. In his absence, River Cracraft and Erik Ezukanma are candidates to see added Week 18 wideout snaps for the Dolphins.

Held in check by Patriots

Latest Headline: Published 2023-01-01

Hill secured four of seven targets for 55 yards during Sunday's 23-21 loss to the Patriots. He also scored a two-yard touchdown on his only carry.

Hill's receiving upside was capped with Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) inactive and Teddy Bridgewater (finger) forced out in the third quarter, leaving him to finish the game with third-string rookie Skylar Thompson. The speedster finished second on the team in receiving yards behind Raheem Mostert, in large part due to a game plan focused on shorter completions against New England's high-octane defense. His rushing touchdown helped salvage the day for fantasy purposes, but quarterback play could once again limit Hill's upside Week 18 against the Jets tough defense.
